Its not hunting in the normal sense of the word, which would imply there is some degree of skill and stealth involved, this is more of a ' lets blast away at anything that moves' type of thing , with no regard for preserving wildlife stocks, or just keeping to 'game' species, anything that moves is blasted, even fellow 'hunters' most years.

The season started last Sunday in the south, one guy shot himself in the thigh first day.

msg7 It would be, if there was "anything" in large enough numbers to justify the word massacre...it's more like the Hunters need to fire shots at even inanimate objects like road signs, the odd pigeon or a mouse ...and as you say, even themselves....

I reckon it should be "rat" hunting! Where the government pays 1 TL per rat, shot and brought to Belediye. That will get rid of the vermin!

I remember the bald headed eagles gliding gracefully all around St Hilarion Castle! It was part and parcel of the beautiful scenery up there. s a child I loved watching them hang on up there without flapping a wing. I often think of a way of introducing them back onto Beşparmak Mountains, only to realise, they would all be shot in a single hunting season by some idiots who cannot find anything else to shoot at!
