Emissions test - anyone know the latest??

Got to tax my car on 1st September. Had MOT, emissions etc. last year. I need to know if I need a new emissions test to tax it this year. I have looked on old threads, but none make it clear about the rules, besides being from over a year ago. (And we all know things change regularly)



So, has anyone recently renewed their car tax, and can CONFIRM what the rules are - does the emissions test run the length of the MOT (3 years), or does it have to be renewed every year.



Car is ordinary Suzuki Jimny.

The emission test lasts the length of the MOT, be it 3 years for a normal car or 1 year for vans pickups etc.

Not to confuse but i had an MOT recently and arrived at the Test Station and they refused my current emission test certificate because it had run for 2 months prior to the Mot. THey sent me back up the road to the emission testing station for a new certificate saying it had to run with the test date. The joke was when i returned i still gave the guy in the office the certificate that had already run for 2 months and he signed my MOT.
