What temperature do the pools go down to? Mine's a quite deep 10 x 5 (if that makes any difference) and was 12 degrees this morning. Not sure how much colder I can take it. Just wondered roughly how long left Ive got to swim in it.

Where is your pool if the water is down to 12 degrees? Edinburgh? I have not used my pool since it dropped down to 22 degrees. The North Sea is warmer than your pool

Hi Jaybee,

Is your pool in the shade a lot? Our pool in Tatlisu was 22 degrees at 8am this morning. We have a cover on it, but I wouldn't have thought it made 10 degrees difference. In the summer ours got up to 35 degrees. Thats hot tub temperature.

Probably 1/4 or maybe 1/3rd of it is in the shade part of the day this time of year, when the sun gets lower, but not in the summer. Its 5 ft at the shallow end and about 9ft at the deep end, whether this makes any difference. Dont ask!! Its not what we asked for. It was just under 12 degrees this morning after last nights rain. I must admit I did chicken out this morning.

a pool cannot be colder than ambient temperature, which is 9 degrees in worse case january february. in practice a pool always will be a little "warmer" than that.

12 degrees in nov is very low and impossible as our ambient temperature is at the moment a little above 14 degrees. something wrong with the thermometer?

thanks for the conformation of my small calculations from 7117 forum, pilgrim.

in december the pool will be 15.

your heatpump, most probably a 3,5 to 4 kw machine, runs on COP 3 = 10to 12kw heating power with full power for 48 hrs.

makes 480 -570 kw/h.

that 2 days alone will cost you around 45 stg.

every following day in december will cost you around 10 stg stg and a lot of evaporation losses...

so, heating up the pool and stay for 2 weeks will cost 200 stg, not 200 for one month...

my bill prdictions for december seems to be somehow right.
