Why oh Why does nearly every thread on this forum degrade to personel insults, bad lanuage and attack's on peoples integrety, those that do this know who they are and should be removed from this forum, all these attacks are doing is driving away registered members and preventing others fom joining because of the fore mentioned reasons.



Izzet please act now in banning those who are guilty, you know who they are, they are ruining this forum for those who wish to use it for the right reasons.

I totally agree with you,what is wrong with someone expressing their own opinion, why should they be subject then to insults and snide remarks. I understand that at times some of Pikes postings may really annoy people and that they feel the need to retaliate, I have done so myself in the past, to my shame.

But when it comes down to an individuals opinion on something as mundane as a restaurant it is uncalled for, after all some people may like caviar and canapes and some may prefer a bacon butty, each to their own. If people cannot be civil to others and accept that we are all different with our own likes and dislikes then they have no place on this board. It always seems to be the same people with the same confrontational attitude that are spoiling it for the rest, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if others don,t agree that,s tough but it does not warrant personal attacks or assumptions on other people. Please Izzet,a word in the right ear may do the job, we hope !

Hattikins, I agree with what you and Rogerdoger are saying but don't you see that by mentioning the individual as you have (msg 2) you have turned it into a personal attack on this person! Also RD, Izzet has already made it crystal clear that if you're not happy with anything on this forum you should email him with your concerns off the forum. Please don't let us start another long winded thread like 'Open message to Izzet' I think these sort of thread just play into the hands of certain people - you are giving them amnunition and they just love it! think about it.

i have been under personal attack for a week now, by someone who has got themselves a new user name.

i have tried to take the argument out of the forum and asked the person to email me if they have a problem.

other members have tried to cut in and get back to the thread, but the annoyance still keeps coming.

at one point poor simbas thought they were digging at her.

izzet has been supportive, but if he were to ban them i feel they would only comeback as a new user. so it is pretty pointless.

most people here believe in freedom of speech, but some have nothing better to do than upset everyone.

i personally won't give the person the satisfaction of leaving this board, and i hope other members will stay strong as well.

it use to be a nice place to visit and hopefully it will be again.

my apologies to anyone who has been subjected to this nonsense.

Have to agree with you. As you say if you ban them they come back under another user name.



I think it is only right that the more sensible board members stick together and bring this board back to how it used to be.....informative, witty and friendly.

Hopefully (?) the one's who cause all the upset and are abusive will get the message and leave/set up their own forum (now there's a thought).



As you rightly state...Izzet has been suportive and hopefully by addressing the latest problems members have been reminded of the rules and also about making him aware if/when members are playing by their "own" rules.

Wouldn't it be better to just ignore the comment's? difficult I know but they are just looking for reaction, like a child having a tantrum, don't give them the satisfaction that they desperatly crave.

I know where you're coming from but in starting this thread you have possibly inadvertantly started more aggro chat. Suffice to say certain trouble makers have not been posting for a day or so - that should provide you with your answer. No need to flag it up. At the end of the day there are "plenty" of moderators around, yet not one chose to take down the thread which was started in breach of the rules and it remained causing controversy until today. So people have to learn how to behave themselves and self-moderate. If certain members aren't capable of debating alternative viewpoints they without resorting to insults and personal abuseshould stay away from public forums.



Hattikins, sorry but you did actually mention an individual which was as provocative as it was needless.

due to family commitments I have not been off line for a day! Would be lovely to spend hours on this thing, but seeing that I have a life, that comes first.



snide comments to people and constantantly repeating the same story over and over again by a certain individual/s seems to be a way of Life. I was asked not to get involved in this stupidity and I have still kept my word. I wonder if the other person can say the same and confirm to the forum that they were also contacted off line by Izzet.
