What if you had a cardiac arrest and the ambulance could not get to Alsancak, Lapta, Karsiyaka or Kaylar in time? As intelligent human beings I am sure you can answer that one.

So following on from the thread about defibrillators in the area, we have decided to do something about it.

Following a meeting with Ray, Rob, Teresa, Maggie myself and Joan (who could not make it due to a prior engagement) We decided not to go for 1 AED but 4! (Kaylar, Karsiyaka, Lapta & Alsancak)

To start the ball rolling JK's in Lapta are having a fun day for the kids and in the evening an 'end of summer ball'. Will post details in the next couple of days.

However anyone who wishes to make a donation but can't attend on the 9th September could you please put in an envelope with your. name (or not) and either pop into JK's or phone me on 0533 884 5621 and I, or Maggie, Teresa, Joan, Rob or Ray will pick up.

Thank you in advance, and I hope you will never need the AED.

Wow Chris how much are you all hoping to raise for all four, good luck. It would help no end if everyones address was recognized too as it seems ours is not even on the map !

Chris, a good and worthy cause. Unless the kids party is for resident ones, most, if not all on holiday would have returned to the UK by the 9th.

Do you carry out training for Community First Responder's to attend emergency calls and provide care until the ambulance arrives. This would be something i would be interested in doing when we move out for good....

Thanks

Message 13, there are loads of us who have had training for this. Started by Terry Carter under the banner of '112' or TKOD, it has been very successful, and in fact, he has offered to train those in charge of the defibrillators when they arrive. Nurse Awful may well have her own scheme going on the Lapta side, and it is great for us all that there are folki terry, the 112, Chris and her friends who have made great strides in makiing this a better place. come join us, you wil be very, very welcome, Schoie.

But just one question. Haven't you read of this before, or have your visits been too short and sweet.

By the way, Chris, I put in a bit of a plug on radio last night and gave out your phone number as well as that of Greg. don't know if it will produce any interest - don't even know if we have any listeners - but you never know.

Message 13,

Once we get the ball rolling and actually get the first of the defibs we will arrange training and would be glad to have you on board, thank you.

Re the kiddies fun day we have decided to do this later on in the year when it is cooler, and the kids are not at school or preparing to go back. But the evening ball is going ahead will post details in the next couple of days.
