Hi

I was hoping you could give me some advice regarding the Cratos. My wife and I are staying here with our 6 month old in mid September and wanted some advice on the hotel. Considering we have an infant, should we stay in one of the Club Rooms by the pool, or is it better to stay in the main building? Will be our first holiday with our baby so we are wanting everything to be perfect!! Also any information or tips regarding the hotel would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

Noble, If you have the option to stay at the Pia Bella instead then I would recommend staying there. Very child friendly, clean, probably a third of the price you will pay at the Cratos, and a good position for walking into town. Very busy road outside Cratos Hotel and not the place to walk with a young baby.

Dare I say that the Cratos is not the perfect place to stay in the TRNC

Thanks Enchanted, unfortunately already booked! We will be hiring a car so not too bothered about walking to Kyrenia. We booked Cratos as was looking for a bit of luxury. Hotel will mainly be a base as will visit friends and family but wanted to make it a nice holiday with the baby. Just don't know much about the hotel, but from what I gather possibly not child friendly?

I would not wish to say that the Cratos is not child friendly, its just a high speck hotel designed to attract wealthy Turks and other foreigners for gambling. Its all about money and how much they can squeeze out of you!. Its certainly beautiful to walk around, and the pool area is fantastic with a dedicated childrens pool. I'm sure your wife will be delighted, and thinks she will have landed in paradise.

Just take several credit cards as you! Have a great time and I hope I have not put any doubts in your mind.

Please let us all know what you think about your experience

If you have already booked, I would suggest that the most sensible thing to do at this stage is to email the hotel and ask for the information

Enchanted. Have you ever stayed at the Cratos or do you just have a problem with people who have money?? The Cratos isnt all about "money and how much they can squeeze out of you" Yes its expensive but the standards are high, you pay for what you get. It has a casino, but so do a lot of hotels here.

Yes Lapta2 Indeed I have staed at the Cratos. Perhaps its a high standard to you, but I have experienced much better!. I'm off to Spain next week to review some hotels there.

Oh I say Enchanted, how do you cope in the poor old TRNC.

What is the perfect place to stay in the TRNC then with your vast knowledge?

PS- Noble, would it not have been wiser to ask for advise on hotels in Northern Cyprus before you booked?

You have had some good advise subsequently, i.e. the Pia Bella which is always highly rated by locals.

I think you should have asked the questions prior to booking.

The Cratos is nice nice place for sure- but as other posters have said, there are better 'family' hotels to be had.

I would personally recommend the Lapida Hotel as a nice small good quality family friendly hotel.

Hope this helps

Electricity maybe a problem unless they've paid their bill!

It can't be that 'child un-friendly' as they have a creche! Contact the hotel direct and see what facilities are available to you, I think its a lovely hotel...!

Thanks to everyone for their posts. Some mixed views! I realise there are the traditional more down to earth friendlier places, of which we have stayed many times. We don't have loads of money but just decided to push the boat out for a more luxurious experience. Will be visitng many friends and family, mainly to introduce our 6 month old! So we will be at the pool a few hours a day and out for the rest, hence the reason for a very comfortable base. Decided to book a room near the pool as I think this will be more practical. Again, many thanks for all your comments.

Noble, You don't have to justify yourself to anyone, just go enjoy, chill out and have a great time visiting friends and family! x
