We have been battling ants for 5 weeks now, mostly in kitchen, seem to have stopped them getting in through floor level and work top level, now coming in from behind upper cupboards. Intend to move cupboards and see if any holes behind them. Hopefully will totally seal any holes/gaps etc for good!

WE had the loads of ants coming into the kitchen, hubby went to the pest control shop opposite alsancak Starlings and got some chemical that they use, sprayed it all around the outside walls of the house and not 1 single ant since. I think it is supposed to last for 3 months.

What? Very clever ants Climbing to high ground at the sign of an earthquake! With high temperatures of the late, the earth and hence their underground homes have probably become unbearably hot - I am currently working on miniature ant air-conditioners, I wonder if they use wheat grain for currency (I'll need a silo!)

Also noticed strange Ant behaviour, i have small ants making holes/homes in my walls, they follow a tiny crack in the plaster, and then begin making a hole, to make a new home. Also noticed they coming through grout between tiles on floor. Keep spraying with Sertex, but keep coming back. Weird.

This is all making me think, the builders of the villas/houses during the last boom must have used some kind of an "ant friendly" plaster that is attracting the poor souls!

Yes it is fine to use with animals we have a dog and she is fine, you have to spray with a garden sprayer so it is only a fine mist and it dries quickly.

We too have a liberal sprinkling of the tiny ones but have discovered if you put a mothball on a bit of "Bluetak" and stick it near electrical power points and above worktops in kitchen, then it does seem to displace them. You may then have to put the mothballs in the cupboards as that was their next port of call. I wouldn't say it totally stops them but we have see much few numbers since the instalation. Also told by someone to put Bay Leaves in the drawers as they don't like them either.

Id say chemicals that kill animals or insects would also harm us and the environment in some way too in the long run. a natural way is always better all round. Ants are probably reacting to peoples love for chemicals and the heat also.
