TRNC judge throws home buyers to the wolves by saying there have no legal provision to inform buyers of mortgages is this fair right and proper ? does it encourage the world to recognise the trnc ?

Chef99,

Was there much publicity within the TRNC or Turkish Press?

What is needed is changes to property law to reflect a just solution to these problems. This government needs to take action before the property market collapses even further, lowering their tax income and hurting the economy to destruction.

Keep up the pressure through the BRS, HBPG and others.

we need this and we need that ,what we really need is too be recognized so we can be accountable.

there are a lot of people on this forum who are saying the opposite ,slagging the whole country off and saying it does not deserve to be recognized .

i am sorry for everyone and anyone with problems ,however if anyone really wants change then push for the kktc to be recognized then and only then we can hope for change.

Musin,

Most people want recognition and hope that this will change the quality of life for the TC and help with the long term future of the island.

It is however a double-edged sword, want and deserve are very different. Do you think the TRNC Government and those in power truly want recognition? It will as you say make people more accountable and also limit their control and power. Despite the benefits recognition would bring to the community, I don't see the Government showing the world that they are ready and able to take the TRNC forward. Their inactivity has certainly ruined the construction industry and tourism. Individuals seem to have got rich quick but the lack of collecting taxes has not benefited communities. In fact they seem to "live up" to the reputation given to them by the ROC.

Perhaps their agenda is very different from the one desired by most TC? It is not just a few Brits that need justice its a whole community.

you are one of the few posters that i respect ,i find myself having to agree with you even when i don,t want too,still the fact that we are not recognized has a lot to do with the roc ,more so then the kktc government ,had they said yes in 2004 maybe we may of had most things ironed out by now and perhaps less victims.

Musin,

A very good post as usual, and its very true that if TRNC is recognised things may change.

But how do you route out Corruption/Nepotism/Fraud and Theft ?

I support everything for TRNC , have signed all petitions etc and love TRNC otherwise I would not want to live my last days there!(Im only 51!)

Regarding Construction , the TRNC was granted an amazing opportunity to do something for themselves and see what has happened, its not doing TRNC any good this and someone has got to get through to either the Government or Turkey and hope that this gets sorted as the only losers are going to be TRNC and Turkey, who will want to invest in TRNC?

Yes agree with you Long Live the KKTC, but an equal footing democratic non corrupt KKTC

Musin;

Recognition of kktc would only mean annexing with turkey,which is the reason of setting it up,that I and many other cypriots like me do not want.

Trust me on this bro,you have to be here to see and understand.

I am a CYPRIOT and my MOTHERLAND is CYPRUS.

Musin with the greatest to you and Yorgozlu, as an expat who has made their home here for the last seven years and have come out of the buying process reasonably unscathed, more luck than judgement I might add, how can you all use 'embargo'/'isolation' as an excuse for the disgusting treatment of any nationality that comes here and genuinely wants to share all that this beautiful island has to offer? And contribute I might add willingly? NOBODY, and I mean that, will recognise the shafting of people that has gone on here. This and present governments do not want recognition, that would mean accountability, not a word they understand. To fix the problems here, would mean admitting their guilt in the cause of the problems.

Natalie;

with all due respect, existing "'embargo'/'isolation' " are the main reason for most of you to buy here.It simply meant,you buying a property in one of the most beautiful part of the world rather cheap.Not to forget to mention the ones running away from international law.

feel free to check out the statistics of how many have bought here as opposed to RoC,since 2003-4.

However,all above does not change the fact of trnc government playing ignorance.

Yorgozlu,

Your statistics will bear the truth on that, I purchased in 2005 but I was always going to purchse once I had left he Army. I served for 2 6 month tours on UN and 3 years in Dhekelia and took every opportunity to visit North- in 1986-88 you were only allowed 1 pass a year without permission from HQLFC at Episkopi well in 1988 I had 5 of these.

Whilst with Un I was in Girne as often as I could get there.

yorgozlu, again with respect to your superior knowledge, yes, we did buy here because it was cheap and also beautiful and after working our socks off for many years, like many and I am sure you could be included in this, came here like so many in good faith, trusting like we do the advocates etc.etc. Mostly came here, not so much for buying cheap, but making our hard earned cash go further and living in a beautiful place and climate. Hnad on heart, do we deserve to be shafted the way we are being>

natalie ; it,s a start and without it you can,t have the end .

salahi ;

i am a cypriot first and cyprus is also my motherland i was born there and that,s where my heart lies ,but and there is a but i am also realistic, i have lot,s of family both in cyprus and britain i hear lot,s of versions about cyprus ,however we cut it ,the reality is we are annexed by turkey already ,i hear lot,s of people telling me the mainlanders are taking our jobs ,they are running most buisnesses , something i do not want to hear ,echoes of when i was a child growing up in cyprus about the gc,s,sad ,but how do we turn it around something i have though hard about and until we tc,s can gel together and stand united

and stick together ,then and only then we may stand a chance ,if not we will all be living in other peoples countries putting down roots that become so deep ,and before we realise it,s impossible to uproot.

the sooner we stop wanting more then what the next person has the better.

thats fair enough ang1706,but as much as crossings being allowed the embargo and isolations still exist.

How many do you reckon would have bought here without the 'crossings' being there?

I'm going off topic and no I would not be different if I was wearing your shoes,it's human nature to "grab".

Yorgozlu I think 'grab' is the wrong word. Many of who have lived here unscathed and made many TC friends, DO bloody care about what happens to the genuine TC's. We have after all burnt our bridges and many of us with absolutely no regrets and stand beside our new found friends and share their concern for the future. Some of us expats do care genuinly, cause if you guys sink so do we. AND low and behold, we love the place rotten and all as it is!!! The only ones making it rotten do not give a toss for the TC's, WHO the Government and they do even deserve a capital letter

Love the sentiment of this page. Join Stop the BLackmail in NOrth Cyprus facebook group, now over a 1000 members, most are Turkish Cypriots and we are united against a common enemy and that enemy is also an enemy of the TRNC - those so steeped in greed they dont care who they hurt and leave homeless in their wake. The time for action is now NOW.
