Hi,

Some of you may have seen me running the streets of Catalkoy recently......well shuffling along......this is because, in a moment of madness, I entered the ISTANBUL MARATHON on 16th OCTOBER.

Can`t say what time I am going for, only that it will be the same day.!!!!

I am running to raise funds for little ISMAIL, who for those that still don`t know is the little boy that lost an arm in the bakery where his father worked and now has cancer in his good arm.

For people that want to sponsor me I have printed some forms off that I can give to people or:

if people want to pledge an amount they can e.mail me on malcolm_barber007@hotmail.com

or

Payment`s can be made direct to bank account that Johhny Lee set up..............

Bank account : Ismail`s account no 40079324

Bank sort code : 40-10-39

Payment can be made from any bank

OR

There is a PAYPAL a/c set up by proger1 ( Paul)

http://www.biznizguide and press donate to Ismail button.........

Paul has asked me to say that with PAYPAL 1 % is deducted from the donation by PAYPAL as admin charge.

But any options people would like to use, PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I KNOW HOW MUCH I AM RUNNING FOR.

My running number is 1521 fyi.

I hope that you can support me in this.

Thank You.

It will be worth it. When I think what little Ismail has already been through, it is a small drop in the ocean.

Just hope I remember that when I start winging to myself about my legs aching.

Just hope lots of people sponsor me to make it worthwhile...........for me...........and more importantly .......for Ismail

very good idea LooseBoots,

Is it possible to advertise our business on your race t-shirt. How much do you think and is it possible to arrange a flight ticket instead of paying in cash.

Re Message 17.

The bank is HSBC and funds can be paid from any bank as long as you quote the sort code and account number.

Plus re msg 14

A collection point for funds is the Zerochlor office in Catalkoy , near the lodge / Tempo supermarket.

Thanks to Dave and Paul for allowing this, but office hours please.

Malcolm you are a STAR. So glad to be able to include you and Anita amongst our many wonderful friends here.

I will get Yasin to explain to Ismails family the massive venture you are taking on for him.

Good Luck and God Bless you. XX

I am trying to get you one of those hats like they have in Blackpool with 2 cans of Efes attached to it and a tube coming down to your mouth.

Had a little feedback from the Cyprus Today article, thanks to the people that HAVE responded and sponsored me, and do realise that there is a lot of fundraising for other charities going on.

If any one has any contacts with the Turkish papers as am anxious to get as much as possible for little Ismail.

Would like to think that my effort in the run makes a difference, however small.

I hasten to add that I have paid for my own flights and hotel accomodation for Istanbul , as you have to pick up your running number before race day, and no expenses have or will be taken from the fundraising.

Well, come down with a cold..................the boss says it`s man flu and to get off my backside and out of bed.

The cold is frightened and hopefully will go away quickly.

Other than that......can`t seem to get the longer runs in...with the heat and humidity.

So will stay with the medium runs but more of them to keep the level of fitness up.

No phone calls resulting from paper article :-(

Oh, Loose Boots what an awful time to get a cold. Don't even think about training with a cold, very dangerous.Especially if it is a head cold.

Mrs Loose Boots, please treat our hero gentle and look after him. Plenty of tea and coffee and T.L.C. and anything else he need's. If you don't I will post it on here.

Iamail needs him. Get better soon Malcolm xx

Hi,

I have found out what my own personal IBAN number is via yahoo answers...............but need to get Lee to check on internet banking on previous statements and it tells you on there.................

Lee,

it should be something like :

GB19MIDL40103940079324

When I put my own a/c in that format the checking website says it is a good IBAN number but for some reason your one is different.

Hi,

Yes I agree, if it is the same bank then it should be the same.

However, I looked at my own personal a/c internet statement and it gave me an IBAN number.

I applied the same formula to Lee`s Ismail a/c but the checking iban website said his was wrong,

So I need to get hold of Lee to check.

They are both UK HSBC a/cs but need to double check.

Hi guys, I am sorry for joining in at the back end of the discussion but here goes, stelee7 has e-mailed me how much he would like to commit and that he will use paypal but as we all know, they take about 2% if it is not a registered charity and as such I really don't want to throw the money at paypal if we can use a trust sytem.

I suggest that stelee77 tells Malcolm how much he is submitting and when he can give it to either him, myself, Dave or Lee in cash when he gets to Cyprus and we go from there. I can easily do it the paypal way but I loathe to think of more money being lost to Ismail because it is not a registered charity.

Let me know which way you would like to do it guys and I will go that way. by the way stelee, your info is not visible to me on the place you mentioned in the mail you sent.

Ste, If you are going to be in NC soon, then just bring cash, it avoids all the hassle. If you are worried about those members on here who think you are a dodgy entity from a third world spy country who's soul purpose is to identify the tax dodging, illegal entities from the UK then send it via Paypal, I will cover the difference. If you send 50. I promise you that Ismail will get 50, heart and soul he deserves it alot more than than I do so not a problem for me, I just wanted to avoid paypal getting anymore of the money for Ismail, they have allrady taken 28 quid from what people have sent.

Simple thing really, if Malcolm can wait till you get here and you are commited to your donation, give it when you get here, if you arean't sue when you will get here, paypal it and I will pay the fee for transfer.

Thanks for giving to Ismail, whichever way you choose.

Hi People.

Went for first run after man flu tonight.

For the people that sponsored me at HACI ALI LAST WEEK we lost the sponsor form.

We think we know most of the people for examople Spider and Lilli but if you did sponsor me last Saturday can you contact either Lee or myself.

Thanks to all the sponsors.

Special thanks to Lee and Jan for all their efforts despite being ill, worse than my man flu.

last night legs had had it.

I wonder if they would let me change my entry to a relay team????

Hi Loose Boot's your running fund was boosted by a further 310 TL last night.

There was Hen night at Haci Ali ,

Lots of other people also . Our friend EamonnMc turned up and weighed in 250 TL as promised and his friends wife Mary donated.(I hope i've remembered the name right) also a young girl from the Hen Party, I met so many people, also the sight of lots of lovely ladies left me a bit disorientated.

But EamonnMc got his reward for his kindness. He got to dance with the bride to be. Lucky Chap.

Thought you would like to know that running total ( pardon the pun ) of sponsor money actually PAID after Emma`s farewell gig is now TL 990.00 PLUS £50.00 in a/c.

That is not including money pledged, that is just the money given already.

Please carry on with the pledges.

We hope to go to the Mountain View buffet on the 5th and to Haci Ali before the marathon.

Plus we are in the process of getting a t - shirt printed.

I would appeal to the many generous people out there to support this worthy cause. This young boy and his family have a heavy cross to bear and even the donation of small sums of cash can have a significant effect on his well being ! The efforts of LooseBoots, Johnny Lee and others are entirely selfless and deserve to succeed ! Dig deep my friends if you can afford it !!

I have tried it and google gives me 3 other cahed links which leads me to the Ismail pay pal link.

Either contact proger1 on his forum or e.mail me and I will give you the IBAN number either of my TRNC HSBC A/C OR UK whichever is more convenient.

Loose Boots, The words Fun and Run do not go together. You are a brave dedicated man.

Try these this for word association with fun, Attractive girls, Water Ski's, Alcohol, Indian Food, The Beach, Boats, Fast Cars etc etc.

BUT NOT RUN.

Also its jan's birthday on the Saturday, so that's another excuse Ive got.

You could have had a romantic pasta meal on the Saturday by the Bosphorus bridge and a glass of red wine for fortification, ready for the race the following day.......

See no excuse ;-)

Good Morning, I wonder if his legs are aching yet.

Sorry EamonnMc only just seen thread. (heavy night) Jan's fault.

I am estimating that so far Loose Boot's will have raised around 2,500 lira with other pledges etc.

Minetor and Carol very kindly sent moneys to Haci Ali yesterday another 150 Lira, and I have a further 150 Lira from last wek at Haci Ali.

If we manage to squeeze it up to 3000 TL that will be excellent because that will give us approx 50% of the money for the Bone Marrow op.

Thank You everyone for your ongoing support.

We are still collecting money but feel we we only have enough for HALF the TL 6000 required.

Please, if you can give, no matter how small, every TL counts.

Thank you.

p.s. Great evening at Joya Bistro last night. TL 5000.00 RAISED

Hi Loose Boots and all of you kind people. Spoke quickly to Ismails's da Cemal yesterday, Ismail is pretty well all things considered and he is being monitored in Hatay in Turkey.

He is very very gretaeful, I expalined that we will have hopefully at least half the money ready for the bone marrow op.

Cemal told me the best way he could ,because my Turkish is limited and so is his English. But he says his family love all of us and thank you.

As we near the 200 posts limit and with over 2100 viewers, its time to acknowledge the generosity of the many and rededicate ourselves to the cause ! Are you a small group who get together for a game of darts/golf/cards etc. and who have a friendly side bet on the outcome ? If so, please consider putting the side bet into this fund ! 20 or 30 TL or more. does not mean a lot to most people but it could help to save a child's life and would be an enduring gift to a worthwhile cause ! Please consider it, my friends and if you want donate , LooseBoots and Johnny Lee are the people to contact ! Thanking you all !
