Paul, last time you did "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - what other songs would you like to do with the band ?

"Sing with the band" has 'really' taken off and helps us to raise 'loads' more for charity.

In fact, anyone can sing with the band for a donation to charity - post the songs here and Pearl will learn them for the night !

Paul...on Sunday, we did Sultans of Swing for the first time, I played it a bit fast, but the rest of the band told me off after the gig so, I have been warned.

We'll definitely do it next Wednesday

Important message from Pearl and Paulgeordie.

Due to a prior commitment from a member of the the band, "Pearl" unfortunatley are unable to attend this event. At the time of making the booking the band member was not aware of his commitment and he and "Pearl" are deeply sorry and devastated for having to cancel the event as they have never done this before and wish to confirm they will continue to raise money for charity and will be peforming at " The Tumba Restaurant" on Saturday 10th September-7pm.

With regards to the event at "The Kings Bar" on Wednesday the 7th of September we also pleased to confirm that a replacement group has been found and they will be performing on the night and all other arrangements remain the same.Members of "Pearl" will be attending the event and Dan will do his famous guitar solo to raise money for charity.

Very sorry for any inconvenience but I'm sure its still going to be a great night -so don't miss it.

Thanks

Art

What a great night that was and a good sum raised for the charities. Fireballs were very good, probably not to everyones taste but I really enjoyed it. Dan from Pearl did a jam with Fireballs and his solo walkabout to raise cash for the charities, I think he really enjoyed it as he stayed on stage with them for the rest of the evening.

Food was also excellent, well done all at Kings Bar.

Another fantastic result for good causes thanks to the relentless efforts of the fund-raising team (Maureen and Peter Fellows, Art and Mary Watson, Paul and Marilyn Lee)

Fireballs did a fantastic job at short notice and Pearl look forward to being on the same bill as them sometime in the near future in a joint Turkish Cypriot/British charity fund raising extravaganze - details to be announced soon.

I am bound to say that last night, Daniel's efforts (on and off-stage), were a credit to him. Anyone who enjoys listening to 'exemplary' guitar got a real treat last night as Daniel and Fireball's guitarist 'duelled' through several numbers. Some of the guitar riffs and fretwork were just unbelievable.

Fireball's lead singer was both amazed and gob-smacked as were the other members of the band.

I just wish that Dave had been there to capture the moment on video.

I will say it again, this is what the Brit's do best - turning up in numbers and supporting a great cause!

A unique event, I feel sorry for any blues/rock music fan who missed out on this night. Will it ever be repeated, who knows but Pearl and Fireballs getting together for a gig must be good news. Will Dan join them again???

After the initial understandably nervous start, when Dan joined the group on stage (which only lasted for a very short while) you could visibly see the joy on his and the fireballs lead guitarist faces as they played together.

Dans' wandering solo just gets better and better and last night was certainly at his best yet.

Well done Dan.
