Once again , I notice that a topic has been hijacked by people losing the run of themselves, It doesn't seem to take long for the disgruntled, malicious and plain barmy to put their spoke in the wheel and by their actions end an interesting discussion ! Why do some sad souls seek to poison and destroy the efforts of many posters to discuss, in a civilized way, a particular subject ?? Why contribute to a forum like Cyprus 44. if all you want to do is hijack the discussion ? It doesn't make sense to me and I hope I'm not alone !!

A clear example is of some my posts being hijacked. I try and inform readers of certain updates that could be of interest to some readers, after all I thought this is what this board is for.

These posters who hijack imy posts n my view suffer from a insecurity disorder, ''shame'' more to be pitied really !!

Msg. 1 It's because they are boring people who have nothing better to do. They're probably unintelligent people who can't express themselves in a normal logical manner or who are just plain malicious and have been most of their lives and have found an outlet in Cyprus44. I'm all for freedom of speech but the Mods on here are virtually spineless and let virtually anything go for fear of offending the people concerned. Whereas it is actually the other contributers that are being offended.

I agree with the insecurity too many have too much time on their hands and are simply replying to posts to correct peoples grammar or cause arguments as they have nothing better else to do and have no interest in the contents of the post for information

maybe we should all post ''stay on topic'' from time to time, this may help things.Other than that would you like to see all off topic postings removed ?

You can try doing as you suggested, there's nothing to lose and all to gain. BTW, I'm fed up with all the endless advertising that gets mixed up with genuine "subjects". I've not bothered to count all the Hillside Ads on this page alone. Can't there be some subdividing on this Forum?.

Very good points raised by the various contributors so far and many thanks to them for their input and I agree that a radical solution to the problem is required ! The co-operation of the moderators is the key to the solution in everyone's interest !

If people gave accurate information with clear and concise detail it would also help to prevent others making contradictions, and then all hell breaking out, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing

Not sure what was posted by message 9 but it clearly warrented a mod to delete the post now in my opinion this should also have a ban and the mod could have also included this info

example

post deleted 72 hour ban given.

I think a list of the Top Ten worst offenders needs to be drawn up ( many people could name them off hand ) and when they start their messing, they should be warned and if they don't desist they should be banned for a set period of time !

I agree that more banning of these disruptive posters one way or another but action needs to be taken now.

Cyprus 44 used to be such an great informative board but it appears not now. Shame !!!

Spider nah not doom and gloom, just agree with the title of this thread and contributions from serious posters could put ideas mods way, might even get Cyprus 44 back on track to what it was intended for !!

Have a good evening.

yeah but its better than talking to yourself on your own forums - all these people that have gone off to play elsewhere and they just post diffrent reams of news treads and no one replies

I dont think threads to get hijacked its how conversations evolve

What people do on other forums should not concern us. All I'm concerned about is the smooth running of Cyprus 44 !

I agree EamonnMc. Like it or not Cyprus 44 has been and still can be a front runner for info for all that wish to read.

Mods have worked hard at getting rid of most of the trouble makers not an easy task for a volunteering job but they are getting on top of it !!

Best get back to the subject before I'm accused of hi-jacking my own topic . I may be mistaken but over the last week or so there does seem to be less disruption on the Forum or are the spoilers just having a siesta ?

And why is that Television / Satellite supply posts seem to attract the spoilers in particular ?
