Scuba Diving, fitness gym, Horse riding, Bingo.....All at a cost. form your own club, start up yet another charity.........You could try walks, they are free, but thats through all the crap that has been dumped _animals bodies etc.,. AND thats of course only when its cool enough. Sue

Get involved in some charity work, there's plenty of that going on! And bonus that will cost you nothing to do!

Depends why you feel bored. Missing family and friends back home. Missing the things you normally do. It is very difficult to break into a new circle of friends and activities, so I can understand how you must be feeling. I can only suggest that you pal up with some fellow students and put the world to rights in a coffee shop, and then decide how you will beat boredom together.

tough one, I know, but you can do it!

don't be nasty, martin. ?sounds as if the person is lonely as well as bored, and I don't think it is a good feel good factor to goaround picking up the litter of people who have been having fun.

On the other hand, if message 1 could get a gang to doit, then everyone would love her and she would never be bored again.

Maybe for you Trigga ? Try loving yourself a little more. But if you feel you would feel much better back home in your own country then GO..

Find a Black group to mix with then perhaps together you might feel more comfortable mixing with and doing as the white's do....= everyday normal things.

Good luck.

I know and have worked with a lot of black people in my time all very much the same like minded people.

Acceptance of everything helps too. If you put up a fight in life, life become a struggle.

No-one should judge themselves or others by their skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, size...whatever...I would imagine it is because most students have gone home for the holidays and perhaps you couldn't or didn't want to, therefore young people your age are thin on the ground at the moment, but once term starts again - things will even out. Please don't define yourself as a black man, but as a man! You will always come across cultural differences, we all have our own cultural norms but diversity is what makes the world go round. If you have come across "racial acts" put it down to ignorance, which is fear - BELIEVE it, EVERY PERSON at some juncture feel the victim of prejudice or contempt - rise above it; if you have done nothing to aggrieve anyone, just carry on your way, don't dwell on it or personalise it. As nurseawful says, charitable work? or until your peers are back; an evening job, say in a bar? you would meet new people and take it from there...

I have had many black friends, and they are proud to call themselves 'black' -their description, not mine. So why has this thread gone form a cause of curing boredom to a racist issue. Boredom is not racist, it is just plain boredom. and |I also know lots and lots of black students here as well as coffee coloured ones, asiatic ones etc, etc, and of course there is a large group that go to St.andrew's church - so I think it is a rotten shame that message 1 is unable to be friends with any of them. I would find it kinda difficult were I a student, as the only people to whom I could relate as white honkeys would be the teachers.

But don't let boredom make you bitter! that is a self destruct button1 I know - I have been there.

and of course, holiday times are the worst aren't they?

Hi Trigga , it must be an age thing , very rarely will you hear someone of more advanced age say they are bored . For me there never seems to be enough hours in the day , but there again i am easily pleased . As you age , you will come to realise that one mans boredom is another mans contentment . p.s. my place needs decorating . Only joking .

Very wise, Lagosboy! and as to bobat's posting I would add 'my house needs cleaning and the garden needs tending, and I can't afford to pay anyone'. Now that could cure boredom - just the thought of doing it is enough to make anyone rush out and find something else to do.

don't give up message 1.
