Is it possible to buy canvas that does not go black, every one I have seen goes black in a very short time

We hve had black shade cloth on our pergola for 3 years with no deterioration, why not use a shade cloth, higher nylon contect, and much cheaper too if it does need replacing.

I would have thought the canvas ones going black is due to holding water and mould growing, plus of course dirt, which will help to hold the moisture and accelerate the process.

Regular jet washing will probably help.
