My wife and I were thinking of spending a couple of nights in Adana, having a look round the area etc, and doing the touristy bit.

Has anyone been there lately, and have any views (good or bad) they might like to share.

Funny you should ask as Jewel pearce and I went early May! We went for a specific reason and although promised a touristic tour, we never got it, BUT there ARE things to see. some super restaurants, much cheaper than here. There is a river running through. Stay at the Hilton and you are overlooking the river. And near there is a new shopping mall. Yes, I know you could say 'What do we want a shopping mall for?" and the answer is..."Because their is a skating rink right bang slap in the middle. Now THAT'S different.

The flight is cheap, it doesn't take long to get there and although it is not the most interesting place, I think it is worth a coule of nights.

Enjoy! if I am wrong, then you can come and shoot me (gentlly) when you come back!

There are a lot better places to go than Adana, which is basically an uninteresting city, I would suggest either Mersin or Antakia if you inttend to go only for two days.

Went to Adana for Xmas last year 2010 - terrible place nothing to do and very very expensive, and not many people speak English, not for the tourist much better place to visit in Turkey for sure give it a miss would be my advice.

I am afraid the planned vacation has been postponed, though thanks very much for all those who posted.

I was in Adana just this weekend, and i had a fab time! I went to the Old Town and saw the old beautiful mosque and the archeology museum. Also went to Mersin for the day and went to the fairground!

I agree as in it's not the most beautiful place to see, but there is definitely a lot to do and see. Do a google search of what to see and do, you maybe suprised!
