The noise at night in catalkoy has been mentioned a couple of times on this forum.

I have a villa lined up for a long term rent up near he mountain range five minute drive from the village center will this be far enough away not to be effected.

Where does the noise come from and which areas of catalkoy are effected.

thanks

You'll hear some of it.

Friends living up past the Dedeman Olive hear music from Cornaro, Shayna, bingo and singing (Sometimes excruciatingly painful karioke) from the Lodge and music (also sometimes karioke) from Soyz.

In lower Catalkoy we hear it all from the terrace when it drowns out our own music.

It hasn't been too bad recently though.

When we lived there it was a bar called Bar 8. Could be called anything now. Its the first left after Supreme Supermarket and next to the cemetry. Never had any trouble from The Fez as they were very reasonable about a 11pm, or midnight on occassions, at shuting off the music.

Why does it seem to only be catalkoy,is there no problem in lapta or alsancak,or is the entertainment all in one area out the way.

Stelee77 I live in Catalkoy about the same distance from the village as your villa. I don't find the music a problem at all - yes, you can hear it sometimes but it is not intrusive.

Timothy that one is now The Lodge.

Elizabeth it very definitely Can be intrusive here at this side of the village.

But as I said it hasn't been too bad recently

We live in the middle of the village and yes on Friday and Saturdays we can hear the music from Fez, Lodge and Malpas (when the wind is in the right direction) but it is not obtrusive and it's nice to go on the balcony and hear people enjoying themselves. It's only the negative whingers who find it a problem, it doesn't interfere with our lives, sometimes when we are sat with friends having a chat then it makes free low background "music". I have never lost any sleep because of it.

If you live adjacent to these venues it may be a problem but then you should have researched this before buying.

Here we go again i am not whingeing. But loud thumping music at 4.30am is not nice. When its very hot the windows cannot be opened. When i bought my house these venues did not exist so how could i research them? Your are lucky it does not interfere with your life it does mine.

Look on the positive stelee, you are only renting so can test ride the property and if it is too noisy at this time of year, move out before the holiday season starts next year.

Deniz1, I feel for you being one of those people that also needs silence to sleep, can't even stand a ticking clock.

Of course its not so bad if you are holidaying and can cat nap during the day or retired so can have a lie in but if you have to get up for work its a real nuisance.

Hi

I have to agree with Deniz1 We live in Arapkoy and we get the boom boom boom until

4 maybe 5 in the morning. Previously lived West side so was aware of the problems of

bars.

Halffull

We did choose to live away from bars etc. We must be at least 4 miles from the venues.

Don't have a problem in people enjoying themselves but till that time in a morning when

it disturbs other people I think is wrong.

We are not whingers either and I agree with Deniz 1, Bradus and barbaros.

Why does it have to be so loud so late? It's more than quiet background music, halfful, and it can be intrusive.

Maybe it is quiet to you halfful, but living close to The Lodge and Soyz as we do the noise is often very intrusive.

When we chose to live in Catalkoy it was quiet.

The Malpas was still a shell and Soyz and The Lodge were unbuilt.

Cornaro didn't exist and Shayna was just Catalkoy Municipal beach.

So please leave out your pompous comments about research.

Whilst I agree a lot of the changes are good, I love the Malpas and Shayna, I feel loud thumping music in the early hours or awful karioke do not benefit all!

It still goes on through the winter too at The Lodge and Soyz!

Music at the Malpas happens much less now and then usually it is a wedding or special event.

We enjoy music but when loud music at late hours booms out and you have no choice but to listen then it is much less e

We live up the hill past the riding stables and yes you can hear the music - but we used to live in Ozankoy and Rafters provided the entertainment every Wed and Sat night at a volume that let us hear it better than if you were sat inside Rafters itself. Up here it is background music that you can either sit quiet and listen to or just ignore.

You will find that after a while you tune it out and even miss it when all the season has passed and all the tourists have fled back to winter. Then it is so quiet you wish for pins to be dropped so you know you have not gone deaf!!!!!

But if you don't like noise at all - move to where it is quiet, I am told Buffavento is fairly quiet most nights!!

It is the type of pompous and extremely rude comment made by Halfful ("If you live adjacent to these venues it may be a problem but then you should have researched this before buying") which put me off the Forum.

Most of the comments are supportive and sensible but there always seems to be one person who is ingorant.

Halfful, you should apologise.

BrightonJim,

There are a lot of BOF's who in my opinion are suffering from the heat and thus spending a lot of time on this forum in the comfort of their air-con. OR taking advantage of the FREE wifi in various places having too many cheap pints.

Having nothing helpful or sensible to say, they can only be obnoxious. Worry not about them.
