Reading through some of your threads and the horror stories therin I was surprised at how difficult it seems to be to engage the services of a decent Electrician. As a former Electricity Board 'sparks' it looks like there might be a definite calling for me to fill that void, I shall take note of your response to this " need " or not, as the case may be, we shall see. This would also give me an opportunity to mix in with the ex-pat community, as I am not yet in the country this thread is just a feeler for hopefully the future. Michael

Msg. here are a few good ones (mostly Brits I have to confess - at least in my experience) but we tend to keep their names to ourselves and not share them!!! Selfish I know but we want to know they are there when we need them, although they do tend to be very busy indeed. High qualified is rare here.

There is also the question of work permits. There are a few of us qualified tradesmen here who will do jobs for friends and people reccomended by them but we daren't advertise our services as "big brother" is watching.

PS. Just looked at your profile Mikey53 and I see you have given your occupation as a taxi driver? I hope you are not one of the many people who re-invent themselves when they arrive here!

Thank you Tango, and Lufc1 at least you understand and take in the information provided, but as suggested could be tempted out of retirement. I don't need to re-invent myself, why mess with perfection ?? As for the taxi driver bit all true statment !! I did a bit of modelling 30yrs ago, but I would'nt go around calling myself a model !! I am an open book but it seems that there are sceptics around checking peoples profiles and stuff, right matula ? And Im too young to be called Ted !!!
