Well done there that man. The West the real home of rugby in Kibris. I have heard that Gordon (always generous) will put a free bar on if England win the final.

Well done Boyos! Best match of the tournament so far. The Taffs have shown the rest of the Northern Hemisphere not to be scared of the Southerners. Shame about the disallowed penalty goal (it was good) and the last-second fumblings on the springboks' line. Bodes well though.

England need to beat Scotland if they wish to go through. By doing so they will in all likelihood face France rather than New Zealand the following weekend. Wales need to beat both Namibia (Monday) and Fiji (Sunday) and need Samoa to lose to South Africa (on Friday) to progress. Assuming Italy beat the USA (Tuesday) and Australia beat Russia, then Italy must do more than beat Ireland |

Hippo, perhaps Gordon will be spalshing out and treating his locals if a home nation wins. There's a great chance of one of them getting into the final. England, Ireland and Wales are improving, shame about the jocks thought they played really well and like us against the Boks didn't have the killer touch

Martin as much as I respect your understanding of the game, I still maintain they are a collection of misfits, players individually are as good as any in the world, Johnston has successfully managed/coached any flair out of the team. The only way England will get rid of him is to see them on a one way flight from NZ. Yes I would like England to do well, but as my nationality is 50/50 Welsh Ireland I hope they do better. The continued import of over the hill /has been foreign nationals into England's premier league means that there is not enough exposure by English players to first class rugby. I still maintain that NZ name is firmly on the Webb Ellis trophy. Waterfront on Saturday morning will be a great venue to watch as I have organised the Flange to play golf that day(and she has the car) can you pick me up?

Shaun Edwards is quite correct its by no ways in the bag. Johnson's misfits according to the majority of pundits here would walk over France. I did tip Ireland to win so I hold my hand up, although I did say it was to close to call. I am still looking for that Scot who owes me a pint on my prediction before the start that Scotland would not make the quarter finals. It will be a very close thing, good luck to Wales I hope they win and win well. The knives are out for Johnston and as far as I am concerned about time, for me Richard Hill or even Jim Mallinder. The AB's have problems now with injury's the gap is getting closer but my money is still on them to win the Cup.

If you were born in England your English be proud of your birthplace. Go to Wales and claim to be half Welsh or Ireland and claim to be half Irish they will laugh at you . If your Welsh, Irish, Scottish or English be proud that your British, the best mixed nation on the planet. We should be able to support any home nation without the nonsense of being HALF anything.

In a Yachtie magazine famed newcaster Michael Buerk described a certain Hippo's accent: QUOTE The voice on the radio was a slur of kindness, ebullience and menace, what they call, up north, a ‘Wirral Whisper’. UNQUOTE. Where's Wirral again? See you Saturday Dave!

you'd better get plenty of extra beer ordered for friday, Gordon, to cater for all the hundreds of people on the island who suddenly became Welsh for the game against France ! Surely they all can't be fair weather fans and will turn out in force to support their nation who were so unfairly refereed out of the tournament. we'll see.

First of all lets remind everyone that it's only the Rugby UNION World Cup and that for the first time there's a non-ex-British Empire team in the final ( in 1954 the French were runners-up in the first official 'Rugby World Cup' -it was RL) Just a reminder that the Nazis banned RL in France during WWII whilst encouraging RU)

Was NZ not part of the empire? As much as you would like to think it is unfortunatly RL is not as popular as RU. I might as well disprove another theory of yours that it is a harder and more skill full game our son played both at the highest level and he still maintains RL has more rest periods. Very few players make the transition from RL to RU and maintain their places. BE very care full on your answer look at the evidence first. RU players are now significantly better paid than RL I enjoy watching both codes but in the UK rugby league is failing. 15 years ago there were over 50 rl league teams in a 20 mile radius of Wigan much more than RU now how many? RU clubs are still there.
