Just received a statement from my bank today 15th November 08,



it was posted on 11th September 08.



Over 2 months to get here!!

so expect ANY Xmas cards around the end of Feb 09

Does anyone know how to go about getting a PO box - which PO would I go to, My house is up in Baspinar Lapta. Is there a waiting list for PO boxes? What does it cost? If no PO box do they actually deliver anything to the door?

We rented in Arapkoy for a year while our apptment was finished. In all this time we only received 3 of our letters !!!!!!!

Turkish Cypriots don't care much.. I think we got used to the mail delivery problems..



A British friend of mine complained to me yesterday that her Christmas present were opened and one of the DVDs was not there (stolen!).



I think it will be British residents again that will make a collaboration and push the government, mail office, etc. for a change! I really appreciate this

I have a p.o. box at Lapta Post Office. Providing they have one available it costs approx 25 ytl for 1 year, i share mine with a neighbour so half the cost, you just go in to post office at lapta and ask, hope that is of use to you.mindy

my mother from the uk has complained to the royal mail delivery and she has been told there is an investigation going on, so the more people that complain the better.

There are several roads leading into the village from main road but if you turn left just as lapta strip starts coming from Girne go straight up,you will come to cross roads, take a left and you will see a row of shops on your right just before the Pharmacy, I think Lapta post office is 2nd shop in on the row, you will see yellow boxes outside on poles, hope that helps you.

They can only change what goes on here... as a lot of post goes AWOL in the UK they are powerless to do anyting about that...



In some years 2% of Social Security payments went missing in the UK post...



I still think the only way to ensure valuable goods arrive is to use Recorded Delivery...

as i said before. asked the local post office how they want your mail addressed.

our kochan says we live in girne but the p.o. want the post addressed to lefkosa.

why who knows? but this may be your problem. its worth a try.
