Hi guys

I've got a new apartment and want to give it a lick of paint. could anyone recommend a stockist (either north or south) that sells quality paint? Is the quality as good as you can get in the UK?

I usually use Dulux trade in the UK and was gonna bring some out on my next visit!

Hi Cloin

You can buy Dulux over in the south at Homestore

Or you can get a good mixed version from Marshall's, it's worth paying a little bit more to have waterproof and a sof sheen and you can choose whichever colour you want

Hi Colin

I think if you pack paint in your airline luggage and it is found, you can be in big trouble. Check your airline luggage regs.

Having said that I brought out some black Hammerite this summer before I was aware of this regulation.

we have used the dufa brand here, its not bad.

good inside and out and cheaper than dulux.

buy white and a colour mixer for what ever shade you want.

I bought the more expensive emulsion at Marshalls and it's not a patch on Dulux, in fact, I thought it wasn't even as good as the cheap UK brands. Having said that, it is different painting conditions, so that may make a difference.

Colin.

Susie is correct regarding Marshall's in the North.

Was in the shop last week and they had everthing you could want for any diy project and the prices weren't to bad.

Polisan paint is the best contract quality paint here... it is available from many of the DIY outlets (Yapi markets)... It goes on well covers well and is made for the conditions... Dulux is available in Super Home Centre in the south and is avialble in large sizes too...

Marshall's is actually a brand of DIY goods and you will see their signs up all over the place but the shop people refer to as Marshall's due to the whopping Marshall's sign on the roadside is actually called TAYF and is opposite (almost) the Lemar at Karaoglanoglu...
