Hi, My car is due for its MOT. The last MOT was held in Sept 2008 so I thought it would be due anytime now. A friend informed me that the government have changed the schedules again and it will not be due until this November. My vehicle reg is HM 818-can anyone please advise. Thanks Art

Just went this morning... Finished Vergi Dairesi and MOT in 30 minutes. Costs TL 105,- (plus TL 25 for the emmisions test). Good luck!

I followed the links and printed out the pages - but what does it all mean? We bought it December 2007 its a JE regn and I had my MOT done at the end of 2009 - so i shouldnt be due til 2012 or should I. The dates on the sheet are 20/5/2011 - 3/6/2011 - but is this just buses and lorries or what. Are cars the smaller bit at the bottom? completely baffled.

Don't rely on the MOT being 3 years after purchase or last MOT date - our 1st MOT was due 2.5 years after purchase date. Our next should be due in 2012 so if anyone knows of the link for 2012 MOT dates I would be very grateful - probably not available yet though. Mrs G

so is it safe to assume our FS reg will not be due till next year as its not shown on the list? Also, does the MOT have to be done in that short space of time listed...we are only here on brief holidays so dont know quite what we need to do if we aren't here when its actually due, do you get any leeway please on time, or can you get it done earlier? Many thanks

My understanding is that you have to get it done in the 2 week period assigned, any later you will get fined. Is there any way a friend can do it for you? They would have to be in possession of log book and insurance document to pay for the test at the tax office - don't think they have to prove ownership - unless someone knows better. Alternatively, go to tax office or MOT centre and ask.

If your car ist not listed in the 2011-list - you dont have to go this year. Anybody can go with your car to the Vergi Dairesi and the MOT. Any day after the dates listed costs a fine. Hope this helps.

You don't need any insurances paper. For paying at the tax office you need the log boog, the old MOT-paper and the emmision test paper. And money..

Sorry, the Vergi Dairesi is the Tax office where you pay for example your Road Tax and the fee for the MOT. It is nearby the State Hospital in Girne.

So, do you go to the tax office first with your old doc's and the new emissions cert and pay - then go to the MOT station - or what?
