I have just fitted a pool cover that should save £1000s it did cost me £320 but i put it a case and it flew with me, fitting was easy, so there is no need to pay pool man or electric until next year.only trouble is hoping know one nicks it. but i think it is a risk worth taking.

Jimbo, why do you think your pool will not need cleaning? A cover will keep some of the winter debrit out of the pool, but you will still need to run the pump each day, and chemicals will also be required.

I would take some professional advice before you sack your pool man

Re: Message 1. Gosh, if the cover fitted into a case and was under the luggage allowance, how big is your pool? Our pool cover for a 12x6 mtr pool had to be freighted out here and weighs lbs!!!!!

Hi Jimbo what kind of pool cover have you got for your pool that it fitted into your case, was it the bubble kind that floats on top of the pool? If so I would be interested to know where to purchase one.

Thanks

My guess is if it could be folded up into a suit case it is a polypropylene "Leaf Cover"...Best put some weight on it ,otherwise in the winter gales it might Disappear........Good luck..

We got a winter debris cover for our roman ended pool off Ebay 2 years ago for £100, We brought it over as part of our luggage allowance with no problems (it was in it's own bag). It's really helps to keep our pool clean in the winter but it still needs to be serviced each month although our pool man doesn't charge so much for his services during winter months because it's easier for him.

the pool cover is a winter debris cover wich comes with spring anchors, it wieghs just over 20lb it comes with its own bag .I flew it over and put my clothes in my hand luggage only need shorts and t shirts i know someone ele who has one and they said that it reduces evaporation and stops all debris from going in when they uncover it in the spring the water is still clear and only needs a shock of chemicals and it is back to normal in a day or two one problem is i can not secure it in case of theft but i suppose if someone wanted to nick it thar would just cut the straps anyway
