Well I have just spoken with Ismail, just brief and my limited Turkish, as always he is bright and chirpy, you can tell from his voice he is weak. But such a happy little boy.



His dad says, from himself and his wife Fatma and the whole family. Thank You to you all and they send their love to everyone of you.

I think a birthday present would be good. Because we know the dire financial situation of the family and it is very doubtful that Ismail will get presents.



When they lived here in Beyarmudu, and we would take the children toys and other things donated by kind people. it was like the Christmas they had never seen.



They used to run down the Sokak to meet us. However I can get Yasin our interpreter to ask his dad the question.

Yes, you are correct you are not popular.



Yes we support other children, in fact every function we go to is for charity.Children in need and kamal foundation just to mention 2. Look at my facebook page that was a picture taken during a fundraiser for Tulips cancer. I am wearing a PHAB kids t shirt which is a childrens charity in the UK.



Think this 7 year old having lost an arm when he was 6 then had cancer in his good arm deserves all the support he can get.





What do you think.



Maybe you could support chidren in the Algarve but don`t knock us.



I could sit on my retirement butt and do sweet FA but I thought I would put myself out for someone less, much less fortunate than myself.and i don`t apploogise for that.

Nicola. Sadly Ismail is one of many children who has a serious illness ! Many people are going out of their way to help him for the simple reason, that they care ! It is impossible to help everyone no matter how noble that aspiration may be so why not concentrate on one or a few truly deserving cases and try to make a real difference to their lives ? And Yes I do regularly support charities and even if I didn't, I really don't see what business is it of yours ? You really, as an adult, should know better !

Hi Ismail, lost his arm when he was 4 years old in a dreadful accident. His father saw his sons arm on the floor.



The family are penniless, and we raised the money to buy Ismail a prosthetis.



Only to learn he had cancer in his good arm. There is no health service as such to assisit him.



He almost died this year through the chemo. They are having to live in Turkey and travel 100 and 100s of miles for treatment.



Today is his birthday. I just simply wanted to tell him about the greetings from well wishers.



I agree with shrimp. You really should have thought before you posted on this topic.



Of course he is not the only child with cancer, but too many of us here he is and has been an inspiration.



Yes many of us here give our time and money to support many different organisations



I have helped 2 other cancer charites this year and will gladly continue to do so, like so many of the other wonderful people here.

I was going to ask any of you brainy computer people out there, if it was possible to have this topic printed.

Only problem now of course is the thread from nicola. Unless that could be removed. I wouldn't want the family to read that.



We keep all the newspaper cuttings for Ismail. He was thrilled to bits with the David Haye boxing gloves story and keeps the photo,s on his wall.
