My standards are high which is why I and my husband have eaten Sunday lunches at Lapta Alshaheens, very popular place so I can't be alone in my praise. I can't understand the need to denigrate a business that supplies excellent food combined with friendly and efficient service.

Would love to know where in the UK you can get a 2 course Sunday roast for under £6 plus complimentary brandy or liqueur. When we were back there recently it was over that just for one course. We've always enjoyed the meals at Al-Shaheen.

I was a Ward Sister for many years and I would have LOVED to be able to say that my patients ate meals like the ones served at Al Shaheen. alas they didn't. Al Shaheen is consistent in it's good food and service, keep up the good work, Imtiaz and ignore the silly people who try to bring other people down.

Even paying Mega bucks at BUPA hospitals I was never, ever served roast like they do at their Lapta place. They can make Yorkshire Puds as they should be made. Can't speak for their Karakum outlet though. Obviously if you want your beef covered by a silver "lid" and sliced at your table then I'm afraid you're going to have to bo back to London and Simpsons Restaurant.

Looks like the little spoiler timothy has well and truly been shown up for his little petulant posting and overwhelmingly put in his place by a majority of good postings, well done bringing timothy down, now say "Sorry" timothy !!! or mummy will tell you off again...
