you probably still will,but think this.

if there is a problem with israel and turkey, and all the army is relocated from the island,then the greeks will seize the opportunity and attack.

i know you might think i am scaremongering but think about it,

the greeks will never get a better chance.

If there is trouble with Turkey and Israel I see the island having more troops stationed here as its a strategic position for Turkey.

Are you talking about 'Greeks' or Greek Cypriots ???? To suggest that either would invade is totally bonkers !!!



Even if there were no troops on the island, the Turkish mainland is only 70 miles away and it would take literally a couple of hours for the Turkish airforce to dominate the skies before bringing in reinforcements.

You gotta larf, the Greeks couldn't afford a kebab, Turkey is in NATO and the mountains of the ROC are full of NATO missiles not greek ones, as for the trnc needing a foreign legion, what it needs is law and order and the big 5% kicked into touch, and what does crete have to do with anything?

That's the best laugh I've had all year the 'ex pat defence force' talk about Dads army.



The big problem would be sorting out the ranks, to hear them talk they were all ex RSM's or Majors.



Kibris must have the biggest proportion of those retired ranks in the world., not to mention the odd Squadron Ldr.
