I have flown from Belfast to Larnaca with Thomas Cook Airways on several occasions. Maybe you could contact them ?

We use flythomascook.com and Olympic holidays (flights) to and from Larnaca. I haven't seen any flights to and from Dublin cheaper than these although it can be cheaper to go via Manchester/London even with the 'hopper' flight to Belfast.

Hi,

Getting from Dublin Airport to Belfast city is easy peasy with hourly bus departures 24 hours a day. The journey takes about two hours. Check out Aircoach or Ulsterbus. The services are not limited to Belfast and can go to many different towns in NornIrn.

Turkish Airlines operate daily from Istanbul to Dublin, so it may give you more options as to days of travel, etc. Having said that it is by no means the cheapest way of travelling from one island to another.

Good luck,

DD

Hi again Paddy,

I agree 100% that Turkish Airlines is the 'best' way between the two islands. I will be using them on Friday week. They cannot be considered the cheapest though at €420 return.

All the best.

Thanks everyone, think the Thomas cook one way LCA to Belfast at 190 Euro's works well for us. We plan to head to Portrush, Co Antrim and then maybe the Northern Coastal route. Maybe then the ferry/coach combination Belfast - Edinburgh, or down to Dublin for southern Ireland sightseeing and over to the UK that way. Options seem to be endless. Do any of our Irish folk have any suggestions for a relaxing family sightseeing trip,

(summer 2012)? Thanks Mel

Depends on where you are, it is cheaper for me to get the bus to Dublin and fly Turkush, than drive to Blfast.park the car for a month, then Easyjet to Stanstead then Pegasus to Ercan, and it cuts 6 hors off the journey.

Once again I agree with your analysis PW. The buses are so cheap these days that airport parking often becomes the deciding factor in the routes people choose. Irish travel tax ata flat €10 per trip is very favourable with the UK £20 per 1000 miles.

I spent the night in the Canal Court hotel in Newry on one occasion and watched the coaches come and go with people using Dublin Airport as their choice.

€190 LCA-BFS does sound go though!

Pogle - your life will not be complete without a visit to magnificent Dublin!!! After Antrim and Giant's Causway, a trip down the east coast via Dublin to Wexford stopping to see Newgrange will be rewarding. Remember hotels are cheap, but food and drink can be expensive in RoI. Cross from Rosslare to Pembroke or Fishguard for your trip to Britain (fyi NornIrn is in the UK).

Whatever you choose enjoy!

The whole west coast, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal are by far the best, fantastic scenery and yes food and drink prices very high but a lot of self catering options available.

Yes, I had already checked the weather historically for the region and see it rarely gets above 17c in summer ( with rain) sounds perfect! Greetings from 36c to all of those of you in the wet and windy UK right now!
