Hi, I have a question, I want to know what is the cheapest and easiest way people have found to get internet connection to a netbook or laptop at Sweetwater Bay. Can you buy a dongle that works if so what make and price? Or is there wifi paid for or free close by? Would be really grateful for any answers, thanks Elli.

we can offer you a fixed wireless connection(wireless receiver antenna on your rooftop-cable down) where you can use a wireless access point to have a wireless connectivity in and around your house. Does this solve your problem?

2Mbit SERVICE

60TL per month or 720TL for 15 Months

4Mbit Service

80TL per month or 960TL for 15 Months

10Mbit Service

We use a Turkcell dongle when at SWB. The smallest top up is 2gb for a month which does us for daily checking and sending email checking the news and daily surfing the net, facebook etc etc . We dont download radio or tv programmes but we don't get anywhere near our limit.

Thanks for your replies, it wouldn't be a constant wireless connection we would need, just for say 4-6 weeks a few times a year. Sheila, how much does the dongle cost from Turkcell?

@TokaiTom, we do not have any connection fees, just 50TL activation for monthly plans. If you pay yearly, you dont pay anything other than whats states in my msg2.

@elli11: If it is anything less than 3 months a year, I too would suggest you use Telsim or Turkcell dongle with 3g, they are very expensive for continuous use but convenient for short term needs. Our initial equipment costs(which we subsidize) are just too great to justify a 4-6 week a year connection and charging you an equipment/installation fee would make it very expensive for you.

Well, I guess they will keep making money as long as there are rich people around. For those of you who care about your pockets, you get a 2Mbit UNLIMITED connection for 60TL.

3G is good if you are mobile, if you need to use internet away from your home/office as well, and thats why you pay more for it.

If you dont need mobility outside of your house, get a multimax connection.
