Well done to Ireland and I have to be honest I was not expecting that.

Great also to see a true legend of sport on Sky, Willie John McBride and yes he was happy so a few pints of the blackstuff will be consumed in Ireland today.

Congrats recurring, makes life a little easier with not having to face the other two southern heavvies, YET, at least if we put Italy away as we should. As a previous thread stated we DO play better as underdog. Onwards and upwards, come on Wales!! msg to gusanova if you like Willie John McBride check out his British and Irish Lions website (blog) Back in a 60s Lions tour in S.A Willie was on the bench when one of Willies (Irish) team mates was questionably sent off fora tackle ? When a bok supporter ran on to attack the player leaving the pitch Mr Mc Bride promptly laid out the invading spectator with one punch. Ah Bliss what a connection that must have been... Finally I had a copy of a picture from "Lions '74" with signed team signatures only (copies) well I wrote to WJMcB to his village not knowing his proper address, within 3days I was sent an email from the great man with his full address including postcode, would any other sport provide you with that personel info ??

Thanks for that Mikey53,

Shows the character of a true sporting icon!!

Great Lions Captain, he and 'Broon fae Troon' were a brilliant second row partnership.

I was on duty in Ulster and was flying through Belfast City, Willie was there (in the Bar) had a pint with him and spent a great 20 minutes or so recanting his rugby life. Sadly he was on the way to Glasgow to attend Gordon Browns Funeral.

If Wales do not win against Samoa then its a bad selection call by Gatland, he is the only coach to keep with the same team that played the first game, I worry for injuries as Samoa are a very physical side and also shows that he does not have the strength in depth to play more players.

DD you and me both, would like to see that one happen but along the way ie; I have become more restrained in my wishes esp in my Fav sport a certain Mr Campese took that optimism away from me at Landsdowne Road, then blagged England (Carling) out of the final, all he had to do was open his gigantic gob, and tell Eng that they can't run with the ball, as Eng at the time played an unbeatable "Power" game, line out, Pitbull up the line a few times then Try, easy peasy, then Campo did his talking... history. DD maybe just maybe !!!!
