Visitor I am not being unkind but what is the attraction of living in France, at present I am in Cherbourg and there is not even a 4* hotel here, I am in a 3* one and it is not terribly good, apart from Paris, why do people come here, the food, whilst being excellent is meagre in portion size to say the least, the only other good point is that all hotels accept dogs.

I forgot to say that I can even take my dog into the restaurant which I think is an excellent arrangement as she is my baby and I hate leaving her.

Well like anywhere it has its good and bad points. Healthcare is very good. Food is very good, cost of living not so, animal welfare not great! It has many beautiful regions, the Rivera, Montpelier, langedoc and so on. Not so easy to get to Cyprus from here Paris is abt it.

Thanks for your views, I have to say I love Paris, its the only place here that makes a good cup of coffee, the coffee everywhere else is dreadful, so strong, I have to ask them to halve the amount and fill with warm milk otherwise I am hyper and can't sleep. I am surprised that animal welfare is not good as they love their dogs!. The Riviera just doesn't appeal to me, full of silly airheads and wanna be models lol, not been to Langedoc, the villages are pretty but it is so chilly, it is 14deg here and very windy. My french is limited although I do speak to the people in my french but when they answer I am lost cos they talk so fast lol. I wouldn't go to Cyprus from France, I drive from Portugal to UK which is why I am stopping in Cherbourg so I don't have to fly my little doggie, we get the ferry in the morning. I was thinking of maybe buying a little place but maybe I won't now.
