Prime Minister İrsen Küçük has said relations between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are not based on interests.

Mr. Küçük was speaking at an event organized by the Karadeniz Culture Association.



In his speech, Küçük touched upon relations between Turkey and the TRNC and stressed that relations between the two countries has always been on the highest level.

‘We believe that our relations with motherland Turkey is not based on interests but is a love and blood relation’ the Premier said.



Meanwhile making a statement at a separate event Prime Minister Irsen Küçük touched upon the rise in tensions in the region due to the Greek Cypriot sides unilateral attempts to explore for natural gas in the Mediterranean.

‘I believe the Greek Cypriots are insisting on exploring for natural gas and petrol due to economic problems’ said the Premier.



Noting that natural resources on the island do not only belong to Greek Cypriots the Premier evaluated the Greek Cypriot side’s stance on the exploration issue as an attempt to sabotaging the negotiations process.
