Notice of 'abuse'

uktvabroad "is hosted by you and it is against BBC Viewing law and ITV Viewing law. Also, National Lottery Online states that users using this service using a VPN are breaking the law."

I have replied asking which law I'm breaking and referred them to an EU Directive and a European Court of Justice ruling.

This is JUST the sort of fun I like, and I would like to thank the 'complainant' for raising the issue of 'illegality'- in the mean time my free VPN remains in operation - and will remain in operation - even it it needs temporary tweaking.

I can only imagine that Mark has assumed whoever has reported him is a member of this forum as I see no other reason that it is relevant to be posted on here, it serves no purpose for the membership, has nothing to do with North Cyprus and as a few people have said is just boring.

Perhaps it is a godsend though, perhaps you will be too busy fighting against someone else trying to prove you did not break any laws (only found a way to circumvent them because of another law which makes what you have done legal) instead of spending so much time on here attacking someone who is very careful to be a legal businessman with the country he operates ins laws, not the country you wish it to be but the country he operates in, it might break some of your moral codes Mark but I think they are very ambiguous.

I think you deserve the hassle but for the people who will yet again lose out because of your belief structure being more important than anytthing else it is a shame.

For that reason, good lu

Seems that the host 'over-reacted' - as soon as their legal team looked at the 'complaint' and my response it didn't take 'em too long to figure out what was what, eh ?

I could be wrong and it might just be in North Cyprus but your layout looks very strange. Perhaps the CSS files have been corrupted or perhaps it is the way you want ot to look.

Just another helpful piece of advice, if you really do want people to disregard the text at the bottom because it is only for seacrh engines then just change the fon't colour to the same as the background and the viewers won't see it but the search bots will see it in your html files.

Actually, Paul

Washerman made a valid point about the legality of some text/ graphics that were there and I rectified it.. it hasn't been touched since..

As you know, I give out the VPN for free and UK TV abroad will be used to launch another product .. involving sling boxes. I DO use the domain for email purposes - it is the one used for this site and giving out the details for the free VPN.

Thank you for your comments - it is appreciated.

BTW does anyone have a Vodafone Sure Signal device ? It is a device that you can plug into the internet - UK - only - and it allows you to send / receive Vodafone calls via the Net..

IF I'm not mistaken, a UK VPN would allow a registered UK mobile with Vodafone, to make / receive calls ANYWHERE in the world - if connected to a UK VPN...

Anyone got one and want to 'play ? ...

Paul, as many folk use the free VPN service - who *are* members of this board - it was highly relevant.

You are correct in your assumption, and the host's MD assured me that if there is a 'next time' they will contact me first - as all he could say was the complainant was not an official source..and once the legal team looked at the facts, the site was restored immediately.

They have to protect their bottoms, but they are now armed with legal fact ...!

No, David.. re msg 21

IF this works all your Vodafone UK calls and sms are included in any bundle you have... you just pick up the phone and dial / txt / receive as if in the UK... no intl divert fees, etc.

It SHOULD work up to 30m from the device..

yet again Mark, you have tried to turn my opinion into a dispute point for you.

I didn't say that your site being down was not relevant, I said that the thread opening post wasn't.

If you had wanted to let your VPN users know then you would not have said it in an accusive way and emphasised your innocence through a legal loophole and the fact that you were thanking the accuser for the compensation you claimed you would be getting.

There is no doubt that you have researched every clause before doing what you do to make sure you are not breaking laws. I would say that you are finding very dubious ways to keep your nose clean whilst at the same time finding ways to accuse others of "cheating the system", in my opinion that is exactly what you are doing but are just clever enough to get around it for now.

I will just finish by saying, It isn't very nice when your business gets affected by someones personnal conflict with you, is it, try to remember that, please.

Paul,

It is perfectly clear what has happened and why.. You have your opinion... I know a little more..

>>It isn't very nice when your business gets affected by someones personnal conflict with you<<

There's one HECK of a difference, Paul, and you are a smarter bloke that you would appear to come across if you REALLY thought that....

1/ Am I charging anyone on here to use it ?

2/ Was the 'complainants' suggestion held to be 'valid' ?

Let's not deflect here, Paul... there are those who delight in taking money for something they KNOW they can't deliver and won't give a written guarantee..

Let's not bring my intellect into this, it is not rlevant.

1/ whether you charge in North Cyprus is also not relevant, it is a tool for your business that was affected by someone who you believe has a conflict with you.

2/ The complainents charge might not have been valid but it is the same in your case, you say that you are quite certain that in the future people will lose what they have because things will change and the supplier should guarantee against this. It will only be valid in your case, if it actually happens.

In both cases, business is/has been affected without any real evidence.

The attack against your business might have been false but until/if things change here all that you are trying to make every person in North Cyprus aware of is just hearsay.

I refer back to my point, it isn't nice to have your business affected by someone with a personal grudge, it might be wise of you to think about that the next time you are being so insistent that you know what might

A bit like your initial suggestion that the thread/ it's title or the content weren't..

The POINT being I posted what had happened - what I believed would happen and it did... it wont be the first or last time.. it just happened more quickly... ;)

1/ I believe the 'complainant' has an issue with dealing with their problem and thought they'd try and made one for me... as usual the deflection was easy to deal with - that normally happens when you are in the right..

2/ If you (foolishly) still believe my contention re a certain grey market pirate is 'incorrect' or 'hearsay' - then you might explain a certain reluctance to issue a guarantee.. you might even note that ( finally) we hear "the clients know the risk".. clearly YOU didn't/ don't...

So, I suggest you stick to advice about things you DO know about... !

I actually assumed that if I were to explain to you why you cause such antagonism you might review your efforts but I am afraid I have achieved as much as every other person, absolutely nothing.

I have tried my best but will no longer, you will never pause to think about consequences as long as you can find a minute way of proving yourself to be correct, no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

I can assure you of one thing Mark, if you keep fighting with people who don't agree with you, it will be a sad loss in the end.

re 29 Rigsby, 800 views and some of 'em - not yet comatose - might realise the lengths 'someone' will go to to deflect from their inability to be truthful....

Dear Paul,

The VPN always has been and still is 'up'....

I suggest you investigate the following:

1/ Are you using some sort of 'internet security' prog that is port blocking

2/ if not - ask your ISP.. THAT error message (800) suggests that you cannot make a connection - because the ISP is blocking access...

Again, you could have asked, first.. you DO seem to have this thing about asking for help - but making declarations of things not working and wondering WHY..

Why do you always believe that I would want your help.

I want to see you struggle because someone is doing to you in the UK, what you are doing to people here just to prove a point.

I warned you about staying in the same place for too long, it makes you a target but as always you know far to much about everything to listen to anyone else.

If you have entered those details EXACTLY in the cases you show and entered the correct hostname / ip ( vpnuk.uktvabroad.com ) it should work...

IF it doesn't then check the same settings I mentioned to Paul..

Given your past 'history' I'm afraid I wouldn't put it past you to claim it doesn't work - when it does.... SAD isn't it?

Same offer for Paul, if you can't get it to work.. I can connect remotely... tomorrow

Strange, then you might even consider using my VPN....

Now, you have had a great deal of my time / energy and it seems that you aren't sincere... that is a shame... you had my offer of help - it's still there, but you'd have to take my SKYPE call !!!

re 55 The host name / ip address setting has never BEEN changed - you must have confused me for someone else, Zero .. ! ;)

Once again demonstrating that is better to ask a question - without fear of appearing foolish - than to make a statement and ...well you know.. ;)

Re msg 54

The DNS servers you are using from your current location appear to be hijacking or failing to return the correct DNS response for the destination name ...

What happens if you go to a cmd prompt and type:

I stated very early on that I don't want a VPN service Mark, you wasted whatever time or energy you needed to try and make yourself look knowledgable over people who just said your system didn't work.

I am sincere in the fact that I wish to see you go through as much hassle in the UK from whoever might be creating it for you as those you have made suffer in North Cyptus from your high seat in UK.

Try coming to North Cyprus and operating a business legitimately whilst staying within the ever changing guidelines that are applied by the local authorites, the only legal authorities in this country I might add whilst having to fend off attacks from someone claiming they have no agenda, they just want to prove they know better, then and only then will I sincerely think you are not trying to be the personal guru of all thinks satellite in North Cyprus, no matter how much grief you cause the existing customers.

Just to confirm as well, just tried MArks VPN from here, all working fine, this message has been posted through it.

Re the website, which is a totlay different thing from the VPN service itself, that is also up and running fine with no problems if you goto the right address which is either

http://www.uktvabroad.com/

or just

http://uktvabroad.com/

if you gotot the wrong website like the one below then of course it does not work

http://vpn.uktvabroad.com/

pretty much the same as if you goto

http://www.ticvpn.com/ it works but if you goto

http://vpn.ticvpn.com/ it does not work.

So proger1 and 0m, if it is not working from your end then it is a problem with your setup. If you want help sorting it out I would be happy to give it but I think it is pretty clear that you do not want any help, you just want to post here than Marks VPN or his website is not working even if it is true or not.

Spot on again erolz, I don't want help, never did, I just enjoyed thinking that he had finally got some payback for constantly posting that a local business will fail when he has nothing but assumptions and his own efforts to get the service provided to fail as yet he has not been successful but it hasn't stopped him pointing out that it will some day, if he gets his way.

I suppose I will have to wait until the authorities catch up with the actual vpn service and block it instead of the website which isn't actually providing an illegal connection.

as Mark says so well, tick tock.

Sorry, I shouldn't have done that should I erolz, I should wait until Mark is around to make it fair.

Oh well, Mark will just find a way to skirt around my statements to avoid accepting responsibility for writing to providers to make customers here lose their service just to make him look correct again.

Enough from me anyway, I have enjoyed the day too much to ruin it now.

Just in case anyone actualy cares Error 868 is the error you will get if you use an incorrect name for the VPN server address, which given those who were having problems with error 868 were also saying the website was not working because they were using the wrong site name, kind of indicates what the problem most likely is.

If you phone a wrong phone number then it will not work If you goto a wrong website address it will not work. If you try and connect to a VPN service using the wrong address it will not work. Not quite the same thing as saying the phone or website ot VPN is not working.

proger1 you can post whatever you like. What I am concerned with are facts and accuracy and truth.

The fact is there is a risk involved in using a grey market Sat TV service. It is a fact that the more 'up front' you pay for such a service the greater the potential risk is of moentary loss is.

The fact is that potentialy any VPN service could be blocked by providing sites like BBC for iplayer or Channel 4 for 4oD and so on. This is true of Marks free service, where the monetary loss to the user would be zero, or of expat shield users where again the loss would be zero, or for paid for services like the one Paul offers at ticvpn.com or the one I use, where the monetary loss would be whatever is left of the montly charge.

I think people using or thinking of using any such services should understand the potential risks, why those risks exist and what it would mean to them in monetary terms of loss to them should the worst happen.

Am I the only one who is totally p****d off with this tosspot mmmmmm? I actually think, now, that he has mental health issues - "rubbing his hands in glee" - while he continually snipes at a rival business. Either mental health issues or he's just a sadistic (begins with B). Why do the moderators allow this imbicile to post? He's just a trouble maker.

>>Am I the only one who is totally p****d off with this tosspot mmmmmm<<

re msg 71.. 'interesting' turn of phrase.. ;).. I wonder what you have to do to move from tosspot to 'impeccable integrity'.. you are obviously a GREAT judge of character )))

Sorry, if I misled by posting the wrong hostname, and thanks to ErolZ and other for confirming all is fine...

Message 71 (gotavilla) : Your first on this thread and you call Mark mentally ill and a lunatic.

A challenge to you. How about putting up a reasoned arguement to support your view instead of personal insults. You know what I mean I'm sure, provide an adult reply.

Cygab, a reasonable argument would be lost on mmmmmm - he seems to get his kicks by sniping and I, for one, don't like it on this forum. As for calling him a lunatic - I didn't - and I didn't call him mentally ill either. AND, more importantly, what's it got to do with you anyway? I have no issue with you.

Gotavilla - a message by you from one of your other threads:

XXX, go and sit in the sun and fry your brain or something. And take your stupid remarks with you. You're not funny and your attempts at sarcasm are pathtic (sic).

I can now see acting like an adult may be quite a difficult challenge for you but try.

Cypgab. I am astounded that you've checked back at previous posts of mine to find the one you've quoted above. It was some time ago and the only one of its kind. But, hey, if you've got time to play silly games on this forum that's your business. But you didn't answer my question - "AND, more importantly, what's it got to do with you anyway? I have no issue with you." I can only assume you're related to mmmmmm and that's your reason for defending him so vigorously and taking issue with me. I shouldn't bother - he does quite alright on his own.

Its not my diagnosis- the diagnosis came from a head doctor friend who has read your postings with great interest.

Your obsessive behaviour is a classic symptom.

Your last sentence clearly demonstrates your compulsive/repetitive response which you have been trotting out over the last 18 months.

You remind me of the guy who says"the world will end in 2012" but it never does-the only person who believes this is himself...........hmmmmmm

Hi MagicArt

You mean like repeatedly quote nonsense from a newspaper article that ErolZ and I have patently reasoned was bunkum ..

Mark, are you completely oblivious to the fact that taking a simple statement that magicart has stated about your repetitions and choosing your own repetitions is a desperate act of someone who really must have the last word.

I think by now that every member of this forum must realise that you can't help yourself, if there is any possible way for you to twist another persons comment to make you look superior you will do it regardless of the consequence.

I really do feel sorry for you at times, when the floor drops out from you in the end, you only have yourself to blame for the noose that will break your fall.

You spent so much time yesterday on this thread trying to be superior to people like me that were just doing things wrong to find your service that you gave out false information about your own site, not once but twice.

Concentrate on your home turf and leave this one to those who actually care about it, please.

Your turn but I am not wasting another day with word tennis

Paul

after your refusal to have a chat via Skype and your 'performance' re my VPN, yesterday, including your admission that you weren't sincere - you'll forgive me, but I see no reason to expect any degree of 'progress'.

Should you have a change of heart I'd of course be delighted to chat - until then, I'm afraid your advice has been filed.. in the round file.
