Hi M's how are you... long time no chat Knowing your expertise on Russia don't you find it ironic that having dislodged the shakles of Socialism and moving towards a more capitalist economy which has seen them re-enrich their society... America votes in an out and out Socialist that is moving them towards what Russia once was... crazy... They have almost swapped roles? Regards to you and yours .. Joseph

Not a problem; kick US out of Diego Garcia, pull out of Afghanistan, deny them use of any of our airfields anywhere in the world. Indite his Kenyan kin for war crimes. That should sort it.

mark message 1: you appear to be re-learning in middle age that states tend to do what suits them at the time, or "obama" as you term it your keen sense of history should tell you that america was put on the spot way back at the time of the argentine invasion, being very reluctant to throw the junta to the wolves at a critical time in the cold war while following the logic of your passing reference to the folk who live there, this could easily apply to the interests of the folk who live here in north cyprus

Yes but no one lived on the Falklands until Brits made it their home... It might be near (well 300 miles off) Argentina but if you accept that principle half of the world would change hands... The Argies only want it because somebody else found a use for it.

This doesn't look to me as if the Obama administration are supporting Buenos Aires more like they are seeking to curry favour from the likes of Venezuela and Nicaragua. Hugo Charvez is terminally ill, when the change in leadership comes perhaps a more moderate person might be prepared to trade with America. Now what natural resources are there in Venezuela that America would want more of?

No surprise The US is courting South America. European nations are on the wane and latin america is rising. Whilst Cameron and Sarkozy were struggling over Libya, Obama was touring and trying to win friends in South America. Perhaps we might see an all American trading zone very similar to the European union. Will Obama ever be in love with the British, perhaps not after his conversations with his father. Do we have a special relationship with the US? They shafted us at Suez and Mcmillan had to beg Kennedy for nuclear missiles. The US was ready to destroy Britain in the thirties? It planned to attack Canada, take out our naval base at Novia Scotia and cut off our supply lines. Slowly but surely, it would twist the knife and dismember the British empire. It was called the 'red plan'. Obama, called France Americas greatest ally, not the British. Perhaps the war of American independence is not forgotten and Obama is more of an American than most people realise.
