Pala- Entering Alsancak passed Dolmaci supermarket turn left at T junction & it's about 25 yards on the right hand side. It's a reasonable priced kebab house. P of P&J

Paddy- I'm sure Guidos is very good, but the two are very different, in choice of food & price, both reflecting the different dining experience. One thing I will say, Lilli, why every time anybody mentions a restaurant do you have to jump in, give others a chance you are obviously doing quite well if we believe all we read. It's not your own personal advertising forum. Having said that we will be visiting Guidos next June when we are in the TRNC again, but we will also go to Pala, probably more than once. P of P&J

HI Paddy. Can recomend the Pala----Daytime or evening. We were always made welcome even when 8 of us turned up at 10pm after a walk and just had soft drinks. Good choice of food at sensible prices.

Paddy if you want A La Carte then perhaps Lilli was right Guidos would be a better choice. Pala is good, but it is only a kebab house. P

Well done messages 4-6. Just an observation If Guidos restaurant is as busy as Lilli makes out... How comes she can sit on her computer so long pumping out free advertising. Jumping in on restaurant threads does seem like desperation to me. "Word of mouth" is the best advertising. Take a leaf out of the Archway restaurants book? No advertising - fully booked most nights 80 plus covers, during winter. AP

Rotaciser: "Scampy what? is lemercen" I think she meant to say" LAHMACUN" turkish pizza.

we must have posted at the same time.. Off topic, the best lahamcun used to be a place called Yeni Han, then changed to Bizim Han.. delicious spicy one rolled around a sprig of parsley with a squeeze of lemon. They sell them here 12 for $5.99 (US), I live in little Armenia part of LA.

day off 2 day and i agree with you they get very busy because the local cypriot community support them and its a very good restaurant and well established we dont have the same advertising outlets as we do in the uk and usually i respond to comments made which i cant pm the thank yous so i have to carry on the thread, its not desperation only out of politness. however i do take your point, paddy wanted ala carte not kebab house thats all i said
