You'll need 7TL in stamps and the "ticket" with you.

I wanted to see photo evidence and yes, they'd copied down the reg number incorrctly so I was let off. Needless to say they wouldn't refund the 7TL in stamps!!!

Sorry to 'jump' your thread but is there any way of finding out if you have a speeding fine or do you just get told as you enter ercan passport control when you return on holiday?

msg 8 - well at least you didn't 'jump the tracks' - When you're in TRNC, you can present your passport or TRNC driving licence at a main police station to enquire, but if you're in the UK I don't think that you can find out - I doubt that they would give anyone else the information, although I suppose if someone wanted to try on your behalf it wouldn't actually hurt - If you do want to get someone to try, I would fax / email them a copy of your passport, and a covering letter of authorisation

Thanks lancashirelad for your answer! Its just i dont want to tempt fate by going to a police station to enquire as there is a large possiblity that i wasnt speeding...the story:- i picked up my rental car from ercan airport as usual around 2100 (damn pegasus flight times!) and was traveling to girne, after fifteen minutes realised that the speedo was in mph not kph so i may well of passed a few cameras on the lefkosia bi pass above the limit. i was in a suzuki jeep and they are well know to have very inaccurate speedos and they are also very hard to drive fast (you bounce all over the place) so there is every chance im fine but just wondered if there was a way of finding out for sure. I only have myself to blame so i dont mind either way.

Best bet is to contact the company you rented from - the speeding ticket will have gone to them first!

I went to the local police station today for some routine business and I found out that the cost of "Applications" has gone up from 6.60 TL to 7.50 TL. So those applying to see the speeding photo should have with them at least 7.50 TL worth of Revenue Stamps. They will accept more Actually its not a laughing matter. In one instance the chap responsible would not accept a higher value and I had to go to the nearest Post Office to obtain the exact amount. Normally I would kick a big fuss about it but I knew his father very well, so instead I asked his father to pull his ears for me.

Ok, so now 7.50tl in stamps.

The police station where you get your "ins and outs" in Lefkosia is where you need to go to find out.

Ismet msg 12 -Did his father pull his ears for him and did the naughty boy come and appologise for being so authoritarian?

More important did the photo evidence resolve your problem?
