Get a job, find out what reality feels like. Come with me for a day unpaid and see what life is really like. You may not like it but you will see real life.

Chance would be a fine thing! Never have time to be be bored!

Get a garden

Adopt a stray dog or cat

Help out with a Charity.

I must admit I wish there were more voluntary activities in the evenings as it is difficult fitting everything in during the day.

When it is too dark or I am too tired or in pain to do things outside I catch up with mending, ironing etc. while listening to the radio, or read or do a crossword or email a friend abroad. If all else fails post on Cyprus 44!

russianbabe/Msg 10: Do you realise that you can, on your own admittance, be fairly categorised as a 'Remittance Woman'! The last one I met was in Fiji - she, having been expelled from that most exclusive girls' boarding school, 'Rodean'. I have written a lengthy novel on this very subject: 'The Remittance Man's Roots'.

So, to try to temporarily relieve your boredom..... !!!

Summary/Synopsis:-

A shocking novel, revealing an adopted foundling’s mis-spent life! A ‘Blitz’ bombing raid - a baby is rescued. Later, subjected to horrendous boarding school brutality, he ‘accidentally’ kills teachers in revenge. A handsome, womanising misogynist, irresistible to girls, his outrageously anti-social activities cause unbearable embarrassment to his illustrious, ship-owning family, and he is banished to the Colonies as a ‘remittance man’. Hovering between life and death after a savage attack in a Mediterranean island discothèque, he experiences amazing ‘déjà vu’. Disillusionment with female rela

Having no work to do is worse than having too much work to do.

Russianbabe, get yourself a job. Since wages is no problem for you, it should be easier to find some work that interests you. This is serious advice. Once you get a job and find a meaning in your life, you can come and thank me

Go in search of the gunman on the grassy knoll - that should take care of the rest of your life, let you travel, find new friends, involve you in political intrigue, solve a puzzle and keep you busy.

It depends on you, what do you want out of life? Everyone seems to think charity work is the best thing to do but maybe it won't suit you as - forgive me - at your age and with your financial backing you would see no real need for charity anyway. The old saying of charity begins at home is often true! There are lots of organisations that would let you help them for free, send you to dangerous places to help others and give you life experiance you could never learn elsewhere - HM Forces springs - lol. Just go with your feelings and if it is dance the night away then do that till boredom sets in then try something else.

Its a big world out there and you seem to be able to do anything you want - so go do it!!!

Sveta I think you are a little wind up minx, and some of the peeps have fallen for your wind up and others even though are meant to be mods, have chipped in with their own post, must be that you say that you are 21, single and privately wealthy, claws out for you then little girlie, as a older woman will consider you a threat, and a bored threat is a dangerous one. If you resemble" Anna Kournakova" take a decent amount of tennis lessons, tan up and come and see this dangerous old man for a bit of a knock up, no more silly boredom,

Russianbabe:

Actually, the Russians have defined a new meaning for a 'remittance man, or woman'!

This is why - herewith an example:

In Paphos, RoC, I met and got to know a Russian oligarch - we used to play guitar together on his frequent trips to Cyprus. He couldn't speak a word of English, or indeed, any other language and, amazingly, he was a Putin lookalike - a real muscley enforcer - clearly not a man to tangle with!

He had made his millions, starting with a market in Moscow - then went on to buy numerous apartment blocks, which, according to - well, I won't say who, were filled with 'girls of ill repute'! Nevertheless, he is obviously exceptionally wealthy - so much so, that he sent his son, Micha, to Cyprus in order to lessen the chances of his son being kidnapped. I knew Micha - a polite, but utterly spoilt brat! At age 15, his father bought him a silver Nissan GTR 'Skyline' [160 mph 'supercar'] - then, as Micha didn't think this had enough 'street cred.',

Msg 38/Cont'd:

his father then bought him a 'highway yellow' Lotus ' 'Elise'. Michcha soon tired of this 'cheapy', so father bought him a Mazda Rx8. That was too common, so father then bought him a 'top of the line' Porsche Carerra - an absolute brute of a machine! He never had a driving licence, or insurance, and when stopped by the cops, always managed not to get himself booked by proffering a 'small cash consideration'! Realising that education in Cyprus is crap, Micha left the 'International School' in Paphos and his father sent him to Switzerland - that was after he was refused entry to the USA!

So, the essence of this real life scenario is that Micha can certainly be described as a modern day 'Remittance Man' - don't you think, 'Russianbabe'?

If you are serious, RB and this is not a windup, I would say go for education every time.

Its hard or those of us who have always had to work to support ourselves, and families to appreciate it, but there is nothing worse than no purpose in life.

You have to chance to qualify for a job you really enjoy - and can pick and chose without having to put money first. And if ever the time comes when your family cant support you or you want to be independent you will be able to support yourself.

Then when you have the qualification , yes, travel - it broadens the mind. Why not study languages and think about a job as an interpreter or translator >
