I hope the singers are better than those at Hoots last night. We could hear them from a mile away. What a racket!

flossy44, mess 2, we have tested the noise levels at Hoots many times and you cannot hear the music on the outskirts of the village, are you seriously telling me you can hear it in Malatya?? I don't appreciate you disrespecting the players that put alot of time and effort into their music by calling it a 'racket'. We have plenty of regular talent at the open mic night, one of these groups will be supporting Johnny Hawkins at the Pia Bella in the next couple of weeks, we also have players out on holiday come up for a session, Bex Marshall being one of them, a girl singer/guitarist was offered a record deal on her performance here. A racket? I think not. The Hoots open mic night has been going for 3 years now, why only now are you are complaining flossy44?

The Black Olive has had regular music events for years and years and years - the original home of Glastonvicki Festival, which totally rocked! Sonia played a great set there and Vicki and Sonia are good mates. There are music work-shops and live events on stage at The Black Olive all the time. As there are great nights out to be had at Hoots.

If we wanted to be silly about things, I could mention that Vicki did tapas nights and quiz nights before Hoots did, but but quite frankly who cares? - The Black Olive is a great place to be and so is Hoots.

There are loads of quizzes, music nights and meze/tapas nights every day of the week in Cyprus - long may it last!

Hi Sonia,

Yes exactly - no battle here!

You're my pal and Vicki's and it's all one triangle of mutual love and affection! - But not in a pervy way at all - before people get the wrong idea..

Just Tony's post makes it look like there might be and just wanted to put here that there isn't at all and we're all supportive of each other, and you and Vicki are doing great things in your own individual ways. Kumbayah! I'm always the peacemaker - love not war!

& long may it last! lol from Auntie Gembo xx
