Hello all, hope you are well. The topic for Drivetime tonight is takeaways. They really complete a Saturday night. What is your fave? Have you had any takeaway horror stories? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Share them on here, or call 225 2390. Bayrak International Radio on 87.8/105fm. Happy weekend!

These days, I'd say Indian takeaway is my favourite - this also goes very well with lager. However, if it was back in the days of my much missspent youth, I'd have gone for a nice greasy doner kebab, particularly after coming out of a nightclub at around 2.00 in the morning

Chicken Shish Kebap cooked over charcoal is my favourite. Sheftalia is also good from the right place, there is a place in Larnaka on the seafront in Makenzie Beach that does this really well (probably because the owner is from Famagusta).

Don't have takeaway in TRNC much. The Americana Pizzas at Pasta Mania ain't too bad! In UK I always enjoy good Fish and Chips....not that east to find these days..well, not in Rochdale anyway! Hollands Puddings Chips n Peas goes down well....Cyril Smith often ordered double (for his supper at around 10pm) from our local chippy back in the 60's and 70's!

In TRNC you can't beat a Gulen kebab - fresh hot and spicy. Although a doner from Fast Food (with chilli sauce) comes a very close second. Jimchris09 - I second that but it must be mushy peas. Maybe that's because I'm a Rochdale lad also....and I knew Cyril. My favourite chippy was on the Littleborough road opposite the turn to Hollingworth Lake. Next door was a bread and cake shop which had on its window the immortal slogan ..... ...."Say it with bread - give her a good muffin".

My hairdresser told me that the Chinese Takeaway 2 doors along from her shop hang the chickens from the washing line to de-frost, I have never stepped foot in there again. I hasten to add this was in the UK not in the TRNC. Had some chips from the chippy last night, they were delicious.
