Super Snooper Bargain Hunter searches for bargains in Cyprus and the UK. "For example how about wine that is the nearest in taste to White Zinfandel as you can find for sale in North Cyprus at around £1.25 a bottle? In the UK how about a free bacon sarnie with a cup of tea, no purchase necessary?

My only concern about this post is that Zinfandel is a RED wine Grape or a Blush Rose, so at £1.25 for a white Zinfandel maybe its not a Zinfandel, hence £1.25 !!!

I dont want to be a pontsy wine guy but........

there seems to be a problem with the firewalls of this website server, http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com/ doesnt work from multimax either. I traced the source of the problem and it looks like its a misconfigured firewall on their end. Owners of the website can contact me and I will provide further details to help them sort it out if they like.

The White Zinfandel "substitute" is a South African rose which is NOT White Zinfandel but tastes a bit like it and not like the usual Red and Whites you get here. More details here

Some local DNS servers are having problems with new websites so that's why I changed to Google's. If you can reach the website via http://www.anonymouse.org then that might be the trouble. I personally am not happy with using the DNS servers provided by local ISPs so I changed over to Google a long time ago and website loading speeds increased dramatically. They also allow you to set up for the new IPv6 addresses which we'll all be having to use soon. More info at

http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html

Groucho, the problem appears to be that some ISPs have a static local DNS server which I assume doesn't get updated too often. I'm Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualified and used to teach Network Engineering but that was 7 years ago. Things have changed a little since then!

At which outlets is this 'plonk' available?

Does anyone know for certain that it's not topped up with 'anti-freeze'?

Excellent Thread, Savings on essentials and luxuries in this austere times, good on ya I say. Iv'e met my fair share of wine snobs, who cares what angle your vine is in proportion to the degrees of perfect placement we were told a pretty good substitute taste wise inexpensively priced, its not meant to be a genuine White Zinfandel, I, for one appreciate someone giving their time and effort to bring us these tips, So should you, Wine, don't Whine , Merci Malcolm, Bon Travail, monsieur bon chance.....

Sounds awful, but I am not a great fan of Californian wine(Zinfandel)..I prefer its close counterpart Mateus Rose...........but I dare say there will be those that like it....

Well, I managed to get on to the website OK. In fact I have also bought this wine. It is really good value, a nice summer wine served chilled.

Re msg 14 it says on the link where it was bought

http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=10

I seem to remember buying mine in Starling.

Tried but unable to access the CBG site - could you please tell me Earlybird the name of the wine you bought in Starling as I love White Zinfandel.

Many thanks

the IP that CPG shares with 160 other websites is being blocked in Istanbul so we're moving it overnight to another IP so the few people who cannot reach it in North Cyprus can get it.

Meanwhile load http://www.anonymouse.org and enter http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com into the space provided.

What about a campaign to bring back the popularity of Liebfraumilch? It was nicked named 'Leg over milk' in my youth and worked wonders for my predator instincts!!

Hopefully, those who couldn't get http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com in North Cyprus should now be able to and so can find out where the White Zinfandel substitute for £1.25 a bottle can be found - information is at http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=10

If you are in the UK then perhaps you'd like to pop into BHS and enjoy TWO breakfasts for £3 (£1.50 each) - get the voucher at http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=6
