You do not need the Muhtar's permission to have the TRNC flag on your sleeve when running. In fact you canm have the whole flag wrapped round your back if youı like! There is no law against that, unless of course you intentionally deface the flag or do something derogatory with it.

The Turkish Embassy is not at liberty and cannot tell people where and when they can have TRNC flags stuck on their arm, chest, whatever... TRNC flag belongs to Cypriots living in North Cyprus and as such the only people who may have any information on the subject (probably after having a very long and loud laugh about it first) would be the Ministry for Foreign affairs! But I would like to reiterate what I said before. TRNC has laws governing such issues just like many other countries. There is nothing stopping a person from wearing a TRNC flag on anywhere, possibly except across their crutch or bum. Hence, I see no reason why anyone should, will or even bother to get offended with such an act. In simple words, you have nothing to worry about

Well The ladies at DIS ISLERI BAKANLIGI ( sorry no Turkish keyboard ) said that in respect of the Turkish flag as long as it was not abused or disfigured in any way i.e. that is was CLEARLY the Turkish flag and could not be mistaken for another country that would be ok. And with regard the the TRNC flag , they said they would be MORE than happy for me to have that on there. Both as long as they were in the correct format.i.e.Turkish flag on left and TRNC flag on right.
