Had some lovely replies (by email) from people offering to help. Sorted out now (thank you Sheila) and many thanks also to the other lovely folk who offered to save the day.



We are supposed to be completing the purchase of a property in UK by 30th September. I went to cross to the south today to post the paperwork off. Because I was in the middle of renewing residency I wasn't allowed to cross. I had done the Girne bit & blood test but not done the Lefkosia bit. I was told at the crossing that I would have to pay 900tl fine (60tl for every day since expiry) before I could cross. Just a warning to others - if your residency has just run out go across & get a 90 day stamp in your passport if you think you may need to leave the country before you get the new residency stamp!
