Think its a good idea first to find a partner!!!

Then it surely is a joint agreement, or are you a modern girl and the partner gets to have no say in any thing ...

My answer would be "Yes". Why should I be the only who's miserable?

So how can people who you don't know, and don't know you or your partner either, advise you on if you should get married.

Marriage is a wonderful institution - but who wants to live in an institution? (Groucho Marx).

Should you get married? A definate no!! When the time comes you will not need to ask, you will know that you have met that special person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Re : Msg 3,

Surely it could be done the other way around.

Re: Msg 4,

"Think its a good idea first to find a partner!!! "

What a bore! Who needs them!

Re: Msg 8,

Re: Msg 11,

Perhaps you could make an effort and advise me on a venue then.

marriage is like the public bathroom when someone need it.

When you are inside. you cant wait to get out of it.

Clarrissa2, quote ....'What a bore! who needs them!' well my dear, usually when you ask about where to get married you have a partner, don't think you can marry yourself! ' do you take yourself as your lawful wedded wife/husband' .... T o daft for words ...

Honestly I just can't believe that question. You might just as well go for a walk around the harbour and stop and ask total strangers. Please tell me we're not supposed to take this thread seriously?

Best thing to do is marry the first bloke who comes round the corner on a bike........er, or preferably a Lamborghini!

Well, perhaps not 'the preferably' - the bloke on the bike will most likely be fitter and give you a better ride!

Anyone who puts they are an aesthete in their profile is full of hubris, has delusions of grandeur, knows no other way than affectation, is clearly someone who has time on their hands, to post risible tripe and sit back and snigger that any of use have responded. OBVIOUSLY it isn't a serious question, it would be impossible, even for close friends or family, to answer the question - the only person who would ever be able to answer would be the person themselves

Perhaps I might be able to help.

A while ago I met someone who knows the redoubtable clarissa2.

I am told that - sorry chaps - she is not a raving 20 something, but a handsome married lady in her forties. Her husband is a fine figure of a man who looks like he should have been in the England rugger team at some time, and chews tyres for fun.

The lady is well educated at several universities, has travelled the world and works in some sort of diplomatic job, foreign service or similar.

She writes on here - and this is no surprise - to highlight what she sees as stupidity of a lot of the contributors and their herd mentality. Perhaps from the above we might decide that is close to the truth.

But there is no denying she is intelligent and entertaining (and from the description of her lifestyle she may well be an 'aesthete'). I have helped her on some threads when she had been giving some good explanations of travel and visas, and where her obvious inside knowledge has been

and where her obvious inside knowledge has been ridiculed by the ignorant. But she rises above it I see.

So keep going clarissa, but just tone it down and keep to the intellgent stuff eh ?

I would say when you find the right person the answer to that question will be very easy. Don't decide to get married for the sake of getting married, recipe for disaster me thinks

Bearing in mind the statistics surrounding the duration of marriages it might be prudent for Clarissa2 to spend much time with a "relate" counsellor prior to finding a partner then carry a pre-nuptial agreement in her knickers along with a black biro. In that way if decree nisi and decree absolute follow it might be possible to contain the level of grief and lawyers/court costs by illustrating that some of the hoops have already been jumped through. Even better consider a labotomy rather than marriage.
