Well as World Cup progresses to the knockout stages, should England be allowed to stay in the competition? For those who do not know, the English coaching staff swopped the match ball with a ball that Johnny Wilkinson is more successful at scoring with. This is against the rules and fair play to England they have suspended the 2 coaches involved- one being England and Wilkinsons kicking mentor!! Aussies are wanting it investigated further and South Africa are also asking for details, an embarrasment yes but is it the end of the matter????

Storm in a teacup. The ball they swapped it for was identical make and model just not a damaged/misshapen one that wouldn't fly straight (which was what the match ball was). I say this as a Scotland supporter. They should not have done it... but what can you do when the ref won't listen? The swap didn't affect the result of the match which no amount of missed kicks could have accounted for... Final score 67 - 3. So it does beg the question... why did they bother?

Have to say I'm with Groucho on this one. There is a multiball policy for games and they were swapping or attempting to swap the ball with which the try had been scored for a specific one of the other match balls that Johnny Liked. Leastways that's what I understand. Harold

c'mon, any guy that thinks Scotland are going to beat England should be listened to. Dunno exactly by whom, but the guy has guts, would you have put your money on David against Goliath? and look at that result, and the hero's name. Personally I don't think it matters, they're only playing for an also ran trophy. T

It's cheating plain and simple .....like stuffing brown envelopes in boots during the (so called) amateur era was. How can we Northern RL oiks ever learn to behave properly when our 'betters' give us such an example?

Yes. Cheating is cheating is cheating. ''This is against the rules and fair play to England they have suspended the 2 coaches involved- one being England and Wilkinsons kicking mentor!'' If England have suspended their coaches - they are admitting they have done something wrong!! Who ever they played should lodge a complaint - and if the ruling body actually are interested, kick them out - England cheated! It is simple.

Dirty cheating pommie bast...s! It certainly wasn't a close or crucial match to warrant such disregard for plainly laid down rules outside the bodily contact nature of the game. Richard
