Does anyone know if solar powered swimming pool pumps are available in the TRNC.

If so...

2 Fitted cost.

3 Pump Voltage and HP

Note

Required for a 10 x 5 metre pool.

Thank you in anticipation,

Wyn,

There was an advert in the paper last week about solar energy. Their shop is in Nicosia, north side. Ar-Çim Ltd,, Şht. Mustafa Akdeniz Sok., Lefkoşa. tel no: 0533 861 8946.

This is not a recommendation, simply passing on the info I had. Good luck.

ismet.

Do you have mains electricity? If so, it will take you a long time to recover your cost of a solar powered pump. Is your house always occupied? If it isn't,you might want to consider a solar panel system on your roof powering your mains pool pump and selling the excess electricity to Kib Tek once the infrastructure is in place.

I'm sure one of the Personne brothers of Kibsolar will provide info on solar panels/pumps.

A heat pump to extend your swimming season into early spring/late autumn will cost you about 6000 Euros.

As far as I can ascertain £3500 or thereabouts does it,

Hi, yes we've had one fitted recently by AGD Solar. Contact is Peter Personn 0533 866 42 43. Not sure about the price as he fitted some other panels for us at the same time but he seems knowledgable and efficient.

assuming a pool pump should work longer than 4 years!! (which these lorentz solar pumps definitely do- as they are high end pumps), then you can only save your money by going solar. sorry, thats (basic) maths ;-)

Once KibTek increase the price of electricity by enough, solar will become more and more a good proposition.

calculated for homes on a 10 years run it has already grid parity - its only a matter of how to spend your money.. more in the end sum with little impacts every month, or a future proof investment with nearly no impacts the following months and payed off after 10 years.

the pv modules cost nearly half as much as 2 years ago.

think about it.

henrik,

Do you think KibTek will ever buy surplus pV power and if so, how much do you think they might pay for it?

Hi Elko, hello all of you.

kibsolar (AGD-Solar) is the only recognized partner of LORENTZ solar direct pool and well pumps in the TRNC, and this since 10 years..

All others are followers, get their pumps from other sources and are not supported from LORENTZ.

http://www.lorentz.de/en/references/europe__cyprus_north.html

Every pump system will be calculated to the size of the pool (total tons) or well specifications.

Vaughan: yes, it seems that their is a law "on the way".

But even if KIBTEK decides not to pay a single penny for surplus PV, kibsolars PV-grid systems can produce one kWh for approx 35 to 40 Kurus.

Or, other way round: after 10-12 years you turn into the black numbers (payback)... important here is the right planning, important not to "oversize" your system.

If KIBTEK prices will go up only slightly, earlier.

Note: due to higher efficiency of DC pumps, a solar pool pump still is a better investment as to install a PV grid system to run a AC pump from sola

if the government pushes their plans through, then KIB Tek will be privatised in the next year. If any one knows what happens after privatisation, then I dont need to tell you more.

Hi Vaughan..

I would say: fake or real... not sure yet... at last he (or it) could not make it into wikipedia...

msg 19: WE are the distributors for LORENTZ solar powered pumps... NOT Europlussolar.

Europlussolar has NO direct support from the manufacturer.

http://www.lorentz.de/en/partners/europe__cyprus_north.html

Since 1999, we are also spezialized for on-grid and off-grid solar systems.

NOTE: Even a Morris Minor CANNOT make it ONLY with the solar modules installed on it.

msg 22, if your pool has 70-75m³, approx 2700- 2900 Euro, depends on place of installation of PV panels.

This represents a payback of approx 4,5 to 5 years.

This price includes the installation of quality equipment, VAT and 5 Years warranty for PV modules and 3 for the pump (none of the pumps installed back into 2004 failed, yet).

PV modules take approx 5 m² area.

Please keep in mind:

1) kibsolar is the "sole agent" for solar waterpumps from LORENTZ, the only company worldwide with reputation in this field, many "Lorentz like looking" fakes are around. 2) We installed more then 20 well and pool pumps in the TRNC. 3) We not only use quality pumps, also our PV modules have all certifications. 4) Important: to lower my price, I can easily undersize your system 10, 20 or 30 % and if at all, you only would recognize weeks later. 5) my prices are guidelines, no offers, usually given for a "worse case".

Kind Regards
