Just started the second half and Eng behind 3-9 but putting pressure on the Scots.. Wilkinson just missed a drop goal... is this another shock on the way ?

Good to see the old enemies laying battered and defeated on the battlefield, it must be something about wearing blue today!

However, in the second game the better team came very close to winning.

Well done Gus for such a sporting comment.... I am sure all of the Scots fans will now get behind England!!

Great win today, and it was great to have kept the best till the end of the game and take the win in that way. Well done England.

I am impressed the way Scotland have improved under Robinson god knows what he feeds them on the size of all the players has increased.Whatching the game in edinburgh with about 50 Scots was very nailbiting and we all had a good swally later and I must admit to getting a bit noisy in the latter stages but they took it in good humour.Looking forward to watching the rest of the matches in the Paradise but England have alot to improve if they are to go further.

Groucho I couldn't find the right spelling so thanks. he knows what I mean, unfortunatley I cant find the original thread where are North of the border friend was giving it out.

Incidentally I thought they played well and would have liked them to win and send Johnston home on the next plane.

Unfortunately the two teams that are playing well meet in the next round while England get an easy ride against an out of sorts French side.

Even with Carter out my money is still firmly on the AB's

Predictions for Ireland /Wales a very close one to call, but should be the best game of the WC to date.

Ok I'll go with it Ireland by a very short head. They have the best kickers in O'Gara and Sexton.

but then Wales have Warburton and maybe Hook will be fit by then.

....and England seem to eventually get things together, somewhat, in the second half...thank God!

However, it won't be a shock if they don't get past France in the quarters.

Hippo, as a Scottish sub-group highlanders (teuchters) are the little guys who survived by skirmishing and running up hill to evade their enemies... the best Scottish rugby players tend to come from the Borders... Descendants of tough border raiding folk who survived by being bigger and stronger than their victims.

Be careful who you call a teuchter and who you don't.

Not quite right Groucho- Teuchter- a Highland Scot who speaks Gallic generally from the rural parts.

English will be crying now the wonderfull Wilkinson will not be fit.
