ozziemyboy you can get 'live streaming' (meaning you see what is being broacast in the UK at same time it is broadcast in the UK) of all the main UK channels with a VPN service. BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 all offer their own live streams as long as it looks like you are in the UK.

However I am not sure all the freeview channels that you would get filmon.com have online streams. They may do but I have never been interested enough to find out to be honest. QVC online anyone ?

correction to my post msg5 , channel 4 and channel 5 do not offer their own live streams, only on demand services.

ozziemyboy - channels 'freezing' can be down to so many possible reasons. It could be problems with the service provided from theiur end, it could be your internet connection it could be your VPN service, it could even be in side your house if you use wifi.

Internet based TV will not be as reliable as 'old' broadcast systems. However for me it is reliable enough. I have only used net based TV now for 2-3 years. THere are occasions when I can not watch what I want when I want, but these are pretty rare and overall its been good enough for me.

re 11

Anne

Those details ARE correct - it's either Nethouse or your pc settings ( if you're using something 'smarter' than the std Windows firewall )

Hi Mark no just windows firewall.

I have used both yours and nethouse in the past no problems and as far as I know I have not made any changes to my settings. I thought at first nethouse may have blocked yours and their vpn now they have managed to unblock bbci etc but others on forum still seem to have no problems.

Oh well I don't watch much TV anyway but I do miss channel 4 old stuff when I am in the mood for tv.

Annie

Ps enjoy your travels

annie been poking around a bit

firstly the details you have in msg7 are NOT quite correct. The password does not have an apostrophe

pw: Its4free

another to check is under properties for the VPN on the securites tab, if you are on 'automatic' for Type of VPN try changing that to 'Point ot Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)'
