Petty but annoying thefts

We have had a floating pool thermometer stolen twice within a couple a days, the first we had from when we bought our villa in 2009 that vanished last Saturday, we bought a second one this one we tied to the pool ladder, and this morning it was missing, again when we checked it the string we had tied it to the ladder with had clearly been cut with a knife or sissors, ok so they only cost 25tl or so, but still annoyning, we had lost a couple of corner plates off our pool, but we had put that down to wind, but now not so sure, so when we leave we will be removing anything that cannot be fixed down, has this happened to anyone else? our villa is in a cul-de-sac at the end, so its not like and opportunist just walking by decided their need was greater than ours.

Careful some one is not eyeing up your villa ready to burgle it. Pop a web cam up.

Had some friends turned over in the hills near Paphos last week.. they had security cameras, but they are useless if the system the records the evidence is nicked...



Make sure any data to be used in evidence is recorded off-site - or in a place the unwanted guests can't access.
