Im happy for her, but it still leaves a hole as to who did commit the murder, is it the other guy who is currently serving 16 years? If so then why were these two convicted?

Hi Paul

She hasn't 'walked free'.. as she was found to have defamed ( a criminal offence in Italy !) a club owner - stating HE killed Meredith Kercher. She got THREE YEARS for that !!!! So.. she has a criminal record in Italy ( hence the EU )

Sorry, Paul, you 'lost' me re the brother bit?!

It is a bizarre case and I hope the right decision has at last been reached, at first I thought she was guilty but then had my doubts, Rudy Guerde was guilty and although he said there were two other people there he has never incriminated Knox or her ex boyfriend.

Meredith's family do not think they are innocent as there were 47 stab wounds on her body done

by 2 separate knives, and police say more than one person involved. I have an uneasy feeling about it

and the fact that Knox lied and implicated a totally innocent man makes me wonder what kind of person

she is. Looks like botched evidence again.

She was given 3 years for defamation and as she served 4 years, the sentence was served.

NO.. but to me to be a *free* man means no convictions - no restraints, no time served... time considered legitimate by the state that sentenced you..

But I get your point ! .. mine is a personal opinion ;)

To understand you have to have had a treat to that freedom in your life ..

Agree message 10 she changed her story so many times to the police and now you bet your life she will write a book possibly a film in the making and she will become a very rich lady on the back of another girls life. I personally think justice has not been done - my opinion.

Msg.15 like you I do not feel justice has been done. I've been studying the UK and US papers today and as soon as her feet touch US soil (which I assume she will have done by now) she is an instant Millionairess. Her family has an enormouse PR machine (called the USofA) behind her whereas the Kerchner are the "forgotten" people and I feel desperately sorry for them. I hate the word "closure" but in this case it is appropriate and the Kerchners have none at all. After just two months in Italy, who killed their daughter?

I feel the only thing that aquitted AK, was the total inefficiency of the Italian police and their Forensic people who bungled just about everything they touched. When the Knox defence were able to bring in an independent source for testing the forensic evidence, then it was clear that AK would be aquitted (albeit I feel on technicalities).

Just wait for the appeal.

There is a guy , Rudy Guerde locked up in an Italian Jail for 16 years. He said that there were 2 more people involved.

Cant think he is going to sit twiddling his thumbs, acting as a fall guy, while she struts the world stage, acting

the millionaireness.

Just my view, thats all

Too many inconsistencies - I think she is a consumate actress and with the whipped up hysteria of the US and its media; the vast majority of American citizens don't even have a passport - never leave the country, all they know is their own world, shaped, informed, instructed, directed by the media and powers that be - it was a cert Knox would go free - it is as much political as anything else...

I don't understand if Guerde says there were two other people, why he hasn't named them?

I sense it was a drug fuelled game on the part of the main protagonists that went horribly wrong - and the innocent victim has been all but forgotten - I truly feel for her family

Rudy Guerde was given 16 years, Amanda Knox was given 26 years and her boyfriend at the time was given 25 years..........I would like to think she is innocent but really not sure now..........why would they have been given longer sentences than the chap who owned up to it??? can anyone enlighten me??

Shrimp,

Because at the time, all the evidence pointed to their guilt.

Then the DNA boys messed up. That is why they were found not guilty. My guess on appeal Guerde will

squeal like a stuffed pig. Will the yanks allow her to be extradited. ? The Double Jeopardy law will not apply,

because they have already been found guilty once, but was overruled by appeal.

I wouldnt sleep too well, were I her!
