Actually I don't clean them (not the mesh anyway)!! If you leave the mesh to build up with very fine dust, then the sandfly's can't get through. I don't care what any of the manufacturers say about the size of the mesh they supply, a sandfly will find it's way through, but leave the mesh alone and they they can't I give the surrounds a good cleaning though.

Stiff brush and a hose pipe, had them for 3 years and still in perfect nick. To keep "noseeums" at bay, spray mesh with BioKill (available in ROC) every couple of weeks. Never have a problem.

Giles, what or where is ROC? As for letting the dust build up, I had done so this summer, but the squally rain shower a couple of weeks ago left my bedroom covered in very dirty water, having blasted all the muck out!

We use a combination of hoover and brushes... works well but we have to clean the brush with washing-up liquid afterwards.

| Hi All......most of you have the right idea for cleaning. We recommend a soft hand brush and clean weekly while the dust is light in texture.A damp cloth with a mild detergent or a drop of Zoflora in the water will also remove dust or is a good way to finish a clean and smell nice .it is important to keep the runners free of dust and debris .DO NOT use an oil on the wheels as this will combine with dust and act like a grinding paste.TLC will extend the life of your investment.
