Please, please help.

I was adopted by a tiny white kitten 3 months ago. He is totally deaf.

He has long white fur and a tail like a white feather duster. He got frightened about 12.30 today in Alsancak - behind Astro.

If anyone finds him please call me on 0533 833 3251.

Thanks

Must have been something he saw that frightened him (if he's totally deaf)

PS If you do find him just wiggle your fingers in front of him and he should come to you. Sign language!

I know this may sound silly but have you tried using a dog whistle to call the cat. I know dogs can hear these special whistles and i wonderd if cats can. it might be an idea to try one. hope you find it.

I'm Sorry to hear your kitten is missing, how old do you think he/she is? A cat adopted us 12 years ago, we still have her to this day.

Thanks to all your responses. Have just come back again from walking miles but of course it's no good calling him.

I'm heartbroken. He's 5 months old.

Haven't got a dog whistle, but will try an ordinary one.

Twinkletoes - I don't think he'll hear an ordinary one if he's totally deaf.

He's back - Hurray!!!!!!!!!

It's wonderful! It was pitch black - 6.30pm and I put the shed light on and had a look into the ravine and there was this (thank God) white bundle of fluff, scared and not knowing how to get back.

I waved to him to attract his attention and he saw me. My husband watched him while I went into the ravine for him.

He's now got a full tummy and is flat out!!!

Thank you to everyone who responded to the message. You are a lovely bunch of caring people.

Thanks from me and Bertie (the kitten!) x x

Ah, a happy ending. Thank goodness he was found safe and well (but just a little scared). Maybe he will be a little less adventurous now. Good idea to keep him in for a while though.

This nearly was a cat astrophe, leaving the owner in a cat atonic state and thoroughly pussed off!

I've got this cat.

Bertie will be staying in for a while and only going out with his leash and harness on from now on.

Collar and bell are a good idea. I have 3 other cats and a dog - they were all concerned today and can't leave the little fella alone tonight!

Thanks again you lovely caring people.

It's not unusual for white cats and dogs to be deaf. Hope you find your cat soon.

So glad you found him.. Unfortunately when my Sparky got spooked it wasn't such a happy ending.. Just a word of advice- deaf cats should be kept inside at all times.. they can't hear the dangers around them like dogs cars and even unfriendly humans and can be easily spooked in to running away.. You'll also find that white van and angora kittens fetch quite a lot of money out here.. Cat-stealing had never even occured to me until I had 2 purebred Vans stolen (and yes.. I do have proof).

Hi Bertie

Glad to know you are ok, no joke being missing I followed female house staff member into the garage one evening and she accidently locked me in!!. Spent all night there, far too uncomfortable for my liking, glad to say she goes to work early and heard me creating, boy did I have some words to say to her mainly that I was STARVING, not having eaten since the previous evening.

Now I stay a safe distance away from her when she is in the garage, much safer and also make a point of telling her that I am there.

Have a purrfect day

love

Herbie.

Hi Herbie

It's lovely to have a new friend.

It's good advice to stay away from that lady when she goes to the garage!

I'm back on my mummy's knee now coz she's on the computer. I like it when she goes on coz there are lots of buttons to press and with four paws, it makes lots of lines on the screen.

Humans - they don't know anything about computers, do they? I may be little but I know a thing or two about pressing the buttons on her keyboard!

Take care and keep in touch.

Love and lots of purrs

Bertie x x
