I think that I have read somewhere that there is a sort of open day/fair at the eco village of buyukkonuk this sunday. I would be grateful if someone would confirm this for me. Many thanks

Re: Msg 2&3,

Went to Büyükkonuk today. Obviously they have postponed the event: the Olive Mill, the craft centre and tourist office were closed.

Absolutely. And the festival usually spreads beyond the central village square, so make sure you wander around. You will probably have to park on the outskirts of the village. I was last there about 5 months ago, just after the by-pass had opened, and signs to the village were practically non-existent, so keep a good eye out.

I went through there a few weeks ago, its signposted. Not a good place for a festival many of the houses are falling down. The churches are in ruins and wrecked inside but the worse thing was the graveyard. A greek took me there where he used to live, all the crosses and graves have been smashed.

Did you go to the same place as me? True, some of the houses on the outskirts are in need of repair. And I dare say there are some churches in the vicinity that are in a similar state. But look at the photos on the link. In particular the church on the first photo.

The villagers are trying their best, and their efforts should be supported.
