...it's just that if they played the best blues of the 60s they might include BB King, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Slim Harpo ......

Well, I dont know what to say, if you dont accept Clapton, Blues Brothers, SRV, Robert Jonhson, BB King etc...as blues and we would like to cover more blues.

However, there are regulars, who want ac-dc, jimi, free and others...

cheers

The real deal? that is the commercial side of the blues. If you enjoy the real blues then you need to dig a bit deeper than that.

Well, I think it is bit harsh to call BB or Jonhson as 'commercial'?... )

If you ever get the chance, buy the Story Of the Blues by Paul Oliver. ISBN No. 0 14 00.3509 5.

Very interesting.

Msg 10

I got 'The Story of the Blues' book/LP from my friends for my 21st birthday, many years ago, and at the time it was quite important although blues-music scholarship has moved on a lot since then .....try 'Escaping the Delta' -Elijah Wald or 'The Story of the Blues' -Francis Davis for a more modern perspective. (Not sure if they're available in TRNC)
